I'm not sure if this is the best place to ask, but I have an HP Pavilion g7 using an i3-3110M and I am experiencing very noticable video artifacting on specific applications only, which I believe is because they are using hardware acceleration.
I have the latest xf86-video-intel packages installed on GNU/Linux. Before someone suggsets it is an outdated driver, I was experiencing the same problem in Windows 7 and 8.
An example of my problem is attached. As shown, my desktop draws itself correctly, but MPV exclusively has artifacts.
I can't find any help online, so this is my last resort until I try taking my laptop apart and reseating the CPU.
I would appreciate any help you can give me.

Hello omieshonn,
At this point we are working on a new driver version that will fix flickering issues when playing or using programs. We do not have the ETA for the release but it will be released soon.
In the meantime for Windows you can try the driver version 4170 from https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/24826/Intel-HD-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-7-8-8-1-64-bit here.
