Integrated graphics on Ultra 7 155H reporting as Intel Graphics and not Arc Graphics

Hello. I recently purchased an HP laptop with the Intel Core Ultra 7 155H and 32GB of RAM. The computer specifications sheet mentions Intel Arc Graphics as the integrated GPU. However, Windows or any other software (e.g cpu-z) reports the Display Adapter as Intel Graphics, with hardware ID 7DD5 (Meteor Lake - P) instead of 7D55 which is the Arc Graphics hardware ID. I am confused as to which iGPU is enabled on the laptop. Is there a way to figure it out? Thank you.

Hello kchristidis,

To assist you effectively and resolve your issue, I need some additional information. Kindly provide answers to the following questions:

  • Have you checked the BIOS/UEFI settings to see if there’s an option to select or view the integrated GPU?
  • In Windows Device Manager, under Display Adapters, what exact name and details are listed for the GPU?
  • What version of the graphics driver is currently installed? Is it the latest version from the HP or Intel website?
  • Have you checked the System Information tool (msinfo32) in Windows to see what it reports under Components > Display?
  • Have you contacted HP support to confirm the specifications and any potential discrepancies?

In addition, you may run this tool Intel® System Support Utility for Windows* to check system information.

Hello,

I cannot see any options for the GPU in the BIOS/UEFI

In Windows Device Manager, under Display Adapters the name is Intel Graphics

Driver version is 32.0.101.5763, the latest from the HP site.

System Information and Interl System support utility both reporting "Intel Graphics"

I have contacted HP support, they just mentioned that "according serial number and specification, the machine has "Intel Arc Graphics"

Hello.

Thanks for your reply. I have checked the BIOS/UEFI but couldn't found any GPU related options. In Windows device manager, system info and intel system support utility the graphics adapter is "Intel Graphics". Driver is the latest available from HP 32.0.101.5763. The HP support agent just mentioned that, according to the laptop's serial number. the graphics are Intel Arc.

Hello RandyT_Intel,

I came accross this thread and I have the same issue. I am not a native English speaker, but to my understanding your questions are answered in a manner that you may consider a new reply.

I also ran the Intel System Support Utility for Windows and the processor is identified as "Processor:"Intel(R) Core(TM) Ultra 7 155H , GenuineIntel", with "Intel(R) Graphics". Which is strange, since the documentation of Intel itself mentions Intel Arc Graphics for the Ultra 7 155H, and not the Intel Graphics. (https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/sku/236847/intel-core-ultra-7-processor-155h-24m-cache-up-to-4-80-ghz/specifications.html).

Could you bring this thread a little further?
