Intel Arc A750 Showing Artifacts, Freezing, and Crashing Even at Boot

Hi everyone,

I’ve been using the Intel® Arc™ A750 for about a year without any issues. Yesterday, while editing a video (not gaming), I suddenly noticed visual artifacts followed by a screen freeze. I had to force restart the PC.

After reboot, it worked briefly, but the problem quickly came back — screen flickering, partial black screen, and eventually a full system freeze. Now the artifacts appear even during boot, and I can't enter desktop at all.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

  • Swapped RAM – no change

  • Reseated GPU and PCIe power cable

  • Cleared CMOS and removed battery

  • Tried a different HDMI cable

  • BIOS is up to date (Gigabyte H410 S2 V2)

  • PSU: 650W (reliable brand)

  • GPU drivers are up to date, also tried previous versions

  • GPU temperature was normal during use

  • System: i5, 16GB RAM, Windows 11

To confirm, I tested:

  • An older GPU (GT 710) on the same system – works perfectly, no issues

  • Arc A750 on a different PC – exact same issue (artifacts, freeze)

So I'm pretty confident the problem lies with the GPU itself.

This issue came out of nowhere and got worse very quickly. No recent Windows or driver updates triggered it. GPU fans are spinning and I primarily use the system for editing, not gaming.

I’ve already raised a warranty claim, and the RMA has been processed. I’ll be submitting the GPU at the service center soon.

Just wanted to share the issue here in case anyone has experienced something similar or has additional insight.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts or suggestions! @MUC @rafay19

If the issues moves with the graphics card to another system, it's likely due to the graphics card's hardware. Unfortunately, this does happen.
