Cordial greetings community,
I request your help to know the answer to the following question: I have the Intel Arc A750 with Archlinux and X11, connected to a mainboard that does not support ReBar. Is there a way through configuration to make the video card work smoothly and without needing ReBar? The system boots, I manage to enter the graphic environment, but in intensive 3D load work, the entire system shuts down and the video card fans are accelerated to the maximum. Thank you in advance for your help.

Hello AlexanderGil,
Thank you for reaching out about your Intel Arc A750 setup.
The symptoms you're describing (system shutdown and maximum fan speed during 3D loads) suggest thermal or power delivery issues rather than ReBar-related problems. While ReBar does improve Arc performance, its absence typically causes performance drops, not system crashes.
Here are a few things to check:
- Power supply - Ensure your PSU can handle the A750's power requirements
- Thermal management - Check if your case ventilation and GPU thermal paste are adequate
- Driver version - Make sure you're running the latest Intel Arc drivers for Linux
- Power limits - Consider undervolting or setting power limits through Intel's tools
The A750 should function without ReBar, though you may see reduced performance in some games. The crashes suggest a hardware stability issue that needs addressing first.
Would you be able to share your PSU specifications, SSU log file and case setup? This would help narrow down the potential causes.
I will wait for your reply.
Best regards,
JeanetteC.

Thank you very much for answering. I have two synchronized power supplies, one 780W just for the video card, and one 750W for the rest of the system. I felt that there would be enough power for the video card. It is a new source of power. My motherboard is Asrock B85M-PRO4 with Intel Core i7 4740k processor.

@Anonymous You are no where near the hardware requirements for ARC. You have a 4th gen processor and the minimum is a 10th gen processor, and your board/chipset needs to be at least a 400 series chipset.
Upgrade your hardware to meet the minimum requirements and then come back if you still have a problem.

I can"t currently use SSU with the video card, due to the error of shutting down. Use it without it and this is the report it generates:

Hello Anonymous,
Thank you for the power supply information. However, as confirmed by the community feedback, your current system does not meet the minimum hardware requirements for Intel Arc graphics cards.
Your 4th generation Intel Core i7-4770K processor and B85 chipset motherboard fall significantly below the minimum specifications. Intel Arc requires at least a 10th generation processor and a 400-series chipset or newer.
Please refer to the official Intel support article for complete system requirements: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000091128/graphics/intel-arc-dedicated-graphics-family.html
You will need to upgrade your hardware to meet these minimum requirements before Intel Arc graphics cards can function properly in your system.
For future assistance, please create a new post as this thread will no longer be active.
Sincerely,
JeanetteC.
