I used Intel Arc B580 the first months with no major problems and after updating its driver now it acts like my B550M-K has a PCIe 3.0 slot instead of 4.0, is this a new scam by Intel like when they took 35% of CPU performance? One thing is sure, I will never buy their products again and will tell everyone to do the same.

Hello DanielSantiago,
Thank you for posting on the Intel Community Forum.
Thank you for reaching out and sharing your experience. I completely understand your frustration regarding the change in PCIe link speed, and I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. Please be assured that I will do my best to help you troubleshoot the issue, and we will work together to identify and resolve it as quickly as possible.
To proceed further and help isolate the cause, I kindly request you to provide the following details:
- Could you please confirm your full system configuration (motherboard model, processor, RAM, PSU)?
- Have you recently updated the BIOS of your motherboard?
- Have you tried reseating the GPU in the PCIe slot?
- Have you tested the GPU in a different PCIe slot (if available)?
- Have you tried rolling back to a previous driver version to check if the issue persists?
Additionally, Kindly share the SSU Log file using the below link:
Intel® System Support Utility for Windows*
Please note: While generating the SSU report, kindly uncheck the “Networking” option.
These details will help us better understand the situation and provide you with the most appropriate resolution.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation. I look forward to your response so we can proceed further.
Best regards,
Chawan

Hello DanielSantiago,
Thank you for your response and for sharing the SSU log as requested.
Upon reviewing the report, I noticed that your system is using an AMD Ryzen™ 7 5700G processor. Please note that this processor supports PCIe® 3.0, and as a result, the graphics card will operate at PCIe 3.0 speeds. If the CPU does not support PCIe Gen4, the GPU will automatically run at PCIe 3.0.
While your processor and motherboard are compatible, the PCIe version will always be limited by the processor’s capabilities.
Additionally, even if the GPU operates at PCIe 3.0, the performance impact is typically minimal and may not significantly affect normal usage.
Please be assured that your system is working as expected based on the current configuration.
If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out I’ll be happy to assist you.
Best regards,
Chawan

Hey Daniel,
I have the same issue as you, after running my B580 for about half a year in the latest driver update the software is just saying that the gpu is running at pcie gen3 speeds even though it was running at gen4 without issues until then. After looking into it for about an hour I seem to have no actual issues with the gpu's performance. I also used another program - HWinfo which showed me that the gpu was running at the usual pcie gen4 speeds. I also have a linux distro(although the drivers are not the same), in which the gpu was also running at pcie gen4 speeds. Unless you are experiencing a noticable difference in performance, it is likely just a bug in the intel software.
Cheers.
