Hello,
I have an Acer Aspire AV15-51 with an Intel Core i5-1155G7 running Windows 11 Home.
Intel Driver & Support Assistant installs successfully, but every time I click Scan it runs for about 4 seconds and then shows:
"Sorry, something went wrong while trying to scan."
I have already tried:
- Clean reinstall of Intel Driver & Support Assistant
- Deleted C:\ProgramData\Intel\DSA
- DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
- SFC /scannow
- Verified DSAService and DSAUpdateService are running
- Verified localhost port 28385 is listening
- Tested with Microsoft Edge and Brave
- Restarted Windows
Nothing fixed the problem.
My system:
- Acer Aspire AV15-51
- Intel Core i5-1155G7
- Windows 11 Home
- Intel Graphics Driver 32.0.101.7088
Could you please help me identify why the scan always fails?
Thank you.Captura de tela 2026-08-01 143842.png

Hi maxttyes,
Greetings from Intel Customer Support!
Thank you for writing in and for the very detailed breakdown of everything you have already tried. That level of detail makes it much easier to pinpoint what is going on, so I really appreciate it.
After reviewing your case, I have a couple of important things to share. First, regarding Brave browser, I want to let you know that Brave is not a supported browser for the Intel Driver and Support Assistant, so any results from testing with Brave would not be reliable. The supported browsers are Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox, so we can set Brave aside entirely.
Now, the more important finding is this. Starting with version 142 of Chrome and Chromium-based browsers like Microsoft Edge, a new security feature called Local Network Access, or LNA, was introduced. This feature requires you to explicitly grant permission for IDSA to communicate with your local system. Without this permission enabled, IDSA will fail during the scan, which matches exactly what you are experiencing. This is very likely the root cause of the issue, and the good news is that it is straightforward to fix.
Here is what to try in Microsoft Edge first. Open the IDSA scan page in Edge, then click the View Site Information icon in the address bar, which looks like a lock or an information symbol. From the dropdown, find Local Network Access and set it to Allow, then refresh the page and try scanning again.
If you prefer to set this more permanently, you can also go to Edge Settings, then Privacy, Search, and Services, then Site Permissions, then All Permissions, then Local Network Access. Under the Allowed section, add intel.com and then retry the scan.
If you would rather avoid the permission prompt altogether, Mozilla Firefox is a non-Chromium browser that is not affected by the LNA restriction, so testing with Firefox is a great way to confirm whether this is the cause. If the scan works in Firefox, that confirms the LNA setting in Edge just needs to be adjusted.
For your reference, here are two articles that cover this in more detail:

Your reply will be much appreciated.
