Intel Graphics 4000 HD resetting back to defaults when being docked with the lid closed, what do I do?

I am working at a IT Helpdesk and I have a employee who has a graphics card that resets the monitor settings back to default when docking with the lid closed. What the user is trying to establish is when undocking and redocking regardless of it staying open or close, he wants to be able to dock it without having to change the settings and me and my tech lead we are unable to figure this out. We have tried setting a profile for it in the software but that didn't help. The graphics card is a Intel HD 4000 Graphics card. I would much appreciate the support.

Hello ngforsgren,

Please note that the Docking station works as a video converter adapter so I regret to say this is behavior is expected.

From our side, I recommend you installing the latest graphics driver for your system. Here you can get it:
