Lenovo Y580 laptop
Windows 7 SP1 64 bit
3M LCD monitor native at 1680x1050
Intel Graphics HD 4000
I am having an issue where the actual resolution being output does not change when I select a different resolution. The output resolution is always 1680x1050, which is the monitors native resolution. I can change the resolution through the Screen Resolution control panel app or through the Intel HD Graphics Control Panel. Windows will see the selected resolution but the monitor will see 1680x1050. Depending on the scaling selected, the lower resolution will either be stretched, centered, or have black bars. What I need to do is output at different resolutions, not just change what resolution Windows thinks it is. Any help is appreciated.

Hi Botia,
It appears the computer manufacturer has locked the video BIOS to detect 1680*1050 at all times.
Make sure you have loaded the latest video drivers for your graphics controller, this may overwrite those settings:
