Just installed new GA-B150M-DH3 and using onboard graphics via HDMI. Panel is Panasonic TV. All resolutions create desktops that are too big for the TV. Scaling down to fit on panel is not available via the Intel HD Graphics panel option. Is there a utility to reduce the size of the desktop.
OS: Windows 10
MB: GA-B150M-DH3 (1151)
Graphics: Onboard Intel 530
CPU: Intel 6400
RAM: 8GB G-skill

Hello, Mr_Grumpy:
I would like to recommend some things to you for this issue.
1. Check the resolution that your TV supports and test using those resolutions.
2. The desired setting for scaling would be "Maintain Display Scaling" or "Scale Full Screen".
3. Test your system with the latest graphics driver from https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25484/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-7-8-1-10-15-40- Download Intel® Graphics Driver for Windows® 7/8.1/10* [15.40]
or https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25749/Intel-Beta-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-7-8-1-10-15-40- Download Intel® Beta Graphics Driver for Windows® 7/8.1/10* [15.40]
I look forward to your outcome with this scenario.
Regards,
Esteban C

Hi Esteban,
Thank you for your suggestions. I have completed all of the above. I used the native (recommended) resolution first then all the others available from 800x600 to 1920x1080 but the result was the same. The size of the pixels changed (as expected) however the edges were all equally cut off (including the task bar).. I tried each of the four scaling, and then tried custom resolution and scaling all to no avail. Drivers were updated at system install, and again after your suggestion.
I have switched to an old graphics card i had in the old build (an nvidia GeForce210). The nvidia control panel has a scaling utility that allows me to adjust width and height of the desktop to perfectly fit the TV. I would prefer to use this card in another PC and was hoping the on board would be at least as functional as the entry level nVidia card.
Do you know of an Intel utility that will work with the HD 530/
Regards,
David

Hello, Mr_Grumpy:
I would like you to check the following link and look for the FAQ Why can I see the center of the Windows* desktop, but not the top, bottom, and sides?
This is to manually adjust the scaling for your display.

I look forward to your outcome with this.
