Hello
I have i5 6400T CPU with an integrated Intel HD 530. I am using Windows 7 Home Premium x64 operating system with latest graphic drivers, version 20.19.15.4352. There is a very noticeable tearing when playing video online, in the browser, e.g. on YouTube. ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5xkNy9gfKOg tearing test @29.97 fps (1080p) - YouTube )
If I set Vertical synchronization (VSync) in graphic drivers option to "On", it has no effect.
I found out that if you use Aero in Windows, there will be no tearing, because it will enable "Desktop Window Manager" which utilize methods to prevent it. I can remove tearing in media player with its own VSync, but obviously no such option exist in an internet browser.
I find this very limiting, as I do not want to be forced into using Aero. On my previous system I had the same non-Aero theme with an integrated AMD GPU and there was no tearing, so it would seem it is a driver issue.
Is it possible this will be fixed in the next driver update?

I am using a Pentium G4440 with HD 510 (also Skylake).
I have similar problems with the iGPU and started a thread a shortly before you.
I am total unhappy with the decision to go with the Intel iGPU so far

Frequency of tearing depends on the nature of the video content and is usually visible when panning..

i have no vga card.
very tearing when play on youtube but never found in play game such as Dota2
i tried 2 browser are Chrome and Firefox but problem not gone
i tried reinstall and add extention is Disable html 5 on Chrome browser but problem not gone
i tried uncheck Hardware Acceletor on Chrome browser but problem not gone

Additionally, you could test you system using different cables, different monitors and different video output, as well as straight connections to discard an adapter as the source of the issue.

I have tried latest beta and non-beta drivers, but the tearing problem is still there.
I have not enabled Aero theme, as installer asked, I did explain this in my original post.

I can see that the Intel® Core™ i5-6400T Processor is a tray only processor, which means that it is to be used by OEMs.
For that reason, have you tested the behavior of your system with the drivers provided by your OEM? If not please provide me with the model of your device so I can provide you with the download links.
There is a tool (Intel® System Support Utility) that can allow you to create a report (which has the information I need) with a few clicks.

my tearing problem on youtube (html5) is gone!!
I not sure why happen because i not change anything!!
1 thing I do just update Intel(R) Update Driver Utility to 2.4 version
and I scan for new update found lasted version is Proset/Wireless and graphic Driver update
but I not install them
and I open youtube for listen same music
I found tearing is gone!!
I very confuse
timeline of tearing gone
1.I bought new extension lead is Panasonic WCHG28352 (old is anitech brand is cheaper)
2.I update Intel(R) Update Driver Utility to 2.4 version
3.I open youtube for listen same music (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T_4RvW2zFww แพ้ทาง - LABANOON「Official MV」 - YouTube) I found tearing is gone!!
4.I think cause extension lead I swap to old but problem is gone too!!

I am glad to hear that this is not happening.
I would like to know what is the driver version you are currently using for other users to test the behavior of the system with that driver.
How to check driver version: Windows key + R and type "dxdiag" and then go to display tab and check the driver available.

Hi All.
We have had exactly the same problem. I deployed Win7 to a Hp Prodesk 400 G2 with the latest drivers off the HP website and had horrible screen tear on 720p+ videos on YouTube.
The solution for us was rolling back to an old driver. I can confirm we have tried 10.18.15.4279 on Win 7 and 10.18.15.4256 on Win 10 (out of the box) and this has resolved the issue for us 100%. No more screen tearing.

Hi,
I bought this CPU separately and used it in my own build.
I think I already generated report with that tool before, it should be on the previous page.
I wonder if go6dad or mjb1505 could verify if there is no tearing using test video from my original post. Degree of screen tearing might vary, but that one should be a good indicator.
I tried 10.18.15.4279 version of drivers and there still was some noticeable tearing.
I should mention again, this applies for non-Aero environment.

Hi Balo.
With regards to my previous comment I need to revise what I have said. We have since found that the machines in question, all identical in spec, work fine with the driver mentioned with the preinstalled (hp branded) version of Windows 7. However, when we deploy our build (using MDT) of windows 7, even with every driver being exactly the same as on the hp copy of windows, we get the same tearing problem. We can't find any logical reason for this. We have even ripped the drivers off the original install (annoyingly the driver disk provided had different versions from the ones installed) and have not been able to replicate the initial flawless experience.
My comments on windows 10 remain unchanged. On all 3 of the 10 machines we have tested windows 10 works flawlessly out of the box (after waiting a little while for it too install the Intel driver over the windows basic graphics driver it uses on first boot)
We have therefore decided to push forward our rollout of Win10 by using these 10 machines as out first phase. Annoying as it is we are unable to justify spending any more time trying to resolve the issue in Win7 when we have a viable alternative solution.
