I have Windows 10 1607 with the updated Intel HD Graphics driver since I purchased the Asus H170 Pro Gaming motherboard with an i3 6320 and when I install the video driver, a few black dots appear on the screen every time I restart the PC.

I already changed the motherboard and the processor last year at the store I bought, but the problem still continues. And it can not be a board or processor problem because of the print sceen taken on the previous screen.

Hello all,

LeandroFerraz I am following up your thread, and I wanted to know if you were able to get in contact with ASUS? Were they able to help you in regard to the dots issue?

I am interested in your results.

Regards,

Amy.

Since I do not live in the United States, I can not exchange an imported motherboard and I can not send it to the RMA in the US. Asus said it could replace the board if it is manufactured in Brazil which is a more simplified version. The local warranty is gone.

I am sorry to hear that, but I believe that would be the next step in your case. From my end you have tried all the possible troubleshooting steps, but since the issue persists the replacement is the best option.

If there is something I can help with, please let me know.

I apologize for any inconvenience.

Hi,

i have exactly the same issue on an Elitebook 850 g3. I try several drivers found here : http://h20565.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?sp4ts.oid=7815300&swItemId=ob_176908_1&swEnvOid=4192# tab-history http://h20565.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?sp4ts.oid=7815300&swItemId=ob_176908_1&swEnvOid=4192# tab-history with no luck

I update the BIOS, try several cables (VGA/HDMI), and test on laptop screen and external screen too but not luck too.

I try to change a lot of settings in the Intel's graphics panel but nothing works.

If i uninstall the intel driver (so the standard Microsoft video driver is used), dots disappear completely.

Hello Everyone,

LeandroFerraz and magiclink, I would suggest installing only the drivers provided by your motherboard manufacturer and laptop manufacturer respectively. This is mainly because both Asus* and HP* have already validated (i.e. tested) the driver with the same hardware that you have. I find it hard to believe that Asus* and HP* could have missed such an evident bug during their driver validation process. If you try with the drivers provided by them, then I would suggest looking for replacement options, as there is a potential hardware failure here (look for processor and/or motherboard replacements). You could also test with different memory, since the on board graphics rely on the system RAM to function properly.

As for our generic drivers, as it has been mentioned before, we have already tested it with different hardware combinations and we haven't been able to duplicate this issue, so unless we are missing a crucial step here, it doesn't seem to be a driver bug.

Kindest Regards,
