I keep getting the following message: "Intel HD Graphics for Windows 8 stopped working and recovered", well, first of all, I updated my Intel HD Graphics 520 driver with Intel Driver Update Utility, and I am certain the driver was for Windows 10 64-bit, which I have. I also have a dedicated graphics card, AMD Radeon R7 M360, which is supposed to work with the "switchable graphics" principle. I have, several times, uninstalled/reinstalled both drivers to various different versions, most lately the version that both Intel and AMD tools have suggested me to update to. Still, I keep getting this message. So far, I have never had an error message from my Radeon crashing, which is why I am asking Intel Tech for help. Please help, I am getting quite desperate.
I have a Lenovo ThinkPad E460, and this is my complete DxDiag report (part of it is in Finnish, but I hope you get everything you need):

Hey iv had the same problem with IGPU HD 4600 2 outputs and HD 4600 + GT610 2 outputs - when I connect or change any mode the system would crash
iv tried every new driver with no luck I gave up the board and got a new one
I think the problem was messing around with the intel ME firmware Iv updated it to the latest firmware supporting my z97
and after that iv noticed the problem.
maybe its VBIOS or GOP problem
anyway now iv have a new board with official bios and didn't mess with it
it have newer vbios and gop driver
and uses an older ME firmware then what I have messed
work ok now blue screens when changing modes
if its a firmware problem and u cat downgrade then from what I get you will need a hardware solution
see my post http://www.win-raid.com/t1974f39-ME-downgrade-fails.html Special: Intel Management Engine " ME downgrade fails

I dont quite believe it could be a hardware problem, if I understood your post correctly. This is a brand new laptop and the dedicated graphics card was already installed to this when I bought this. I however updated my BIOS/EFI to the latest version, and I cant really remember if Intel HD Graphics used to crash with the old BIOS, does anyone know if it could affect..? I also updated my chipset drivers. Would downgrading BIOS help?
Also, when I use Heaven Benchmark, I get around 15 FPS @ 1280x720 px @ medium quality with Intel HD Graphics, and when I turn the switchable graphics on for Heaven Benchmark, I get like 10 FPS, how is that even possible? I am having hard time believing that Intel HD Graphics 520 would be more powerful than AMD Radeon R7 M360. There would be absolute no point turning R7 on @ heavy content if it would be worse than Intel HD Graphics lol
TL;DR: Problem still unsolved.

This makes absolute zero sense. I configured from the switchable graphics settings so that FurMark uses Intel HD Graphics, and that way I got twice as good FPS, as with R7 M360 enabled for FurMark, what is going on.. Seriously thinking about returning the whole d*mn device.

after bios update it will be hard to return just don't say nothing - did you check all bios settings ? like CSM is on/off - uefi or legacy bios ? try downloading driver sweeper or newer software to completely remove both drivers of intel and dedicated gpu and then reinstall !

Yes, I have checked every possible UEFI setting. I just uninstalled both drivers completely and installed the newest possible beta drivers. HD 520 still performs better than R7 M360. Could it just be that HD 520 is simply better than R7 M360? I am having a really hard time believing that, why in earth would Lenovo ever put a worse dedicated graphics card?
Could it be that R7 M360 would be more suitable for running a certain type of software than HD 520? In gaming for example, HD 520 would be more powerful than R7 M360?

Hello, tomlep:
I am sorry to hear that, and I would like to help you fix this error message.

Hello, /thread/104355 tomlep:
I haven't heard from you and I wanted to check on your thread; were you able to install the driver manually?
Let me know your findings.
Regards,
Amy.
