Intel HD update in Windows update knocks out wireless lan

I have downloaded Intel HD Graphics update from Windows 7 update and when the Intel HD installs it knocks my wireless lan out . I tried reinstalling the wireless drivers Atheros AR5B97 but thi didn't work. I did a system restore and tried again with all programs closed again it knocked the wireless out.

I have an Acer Aspire 5742, Intel i5 processor 4 gig ram, Windows 7 64 bit. Using IE 9. Any help would be appreciated
