Dear all
I'm having trouble playing HTML5 video with this graphics chip in the latest version of Chrome on Windows 7 x64.
Basically the video will not stream, but the audio is fine. If I take the Intel graphics driver off and return to "standard VGA" adapter the video works fine again.
Is this a known issue?
Many thanks

Hello,
We have not seen any report of a similar issue. I tried it myself with some samples in http://www.w3schools.com/ www.w3schools.com and it went fine.
Could you please specify what video drivers are being used? Also provide the model of the motherboard or laptop that you are using and if you have tested the drivers from the motherboard or laptop manufacturer? (If so, please also list those versions)
What happens if you try using another web browser such as IE or Firefox?

Hello Diego, thanks for your post.
- The driver I have is 9.17.10.2932 12/12/2012
- The computer is a HP Elite 7500 Series MT
- HWinfo lists the motherboard model as PEGATRON CORPORATION 2AD5
- I tried the MS certified drivers from Windows update and the ones from the HP support site with no success
- When I use IE, Firefox or Opera I can view the videos perfectly.
Many thanks for your help.

Diego: just to add to this, I've now installed the Comodo Dragon browser (which is basically Chrome):
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comodo_Dragon_(web_browser) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comodo_Dragon_(web_browser)
Interestingly the videos work fine in this browser. Perhaps I am wasting your time here and it is a problem with the very latest version of Chrome?
Regards

Alistair,
Thank you for the feedback on this. I will forward it in case any similar behavior is reported, however it seems to be isolated to that version of Chrome.

Hi Diego
I upgraded to Chrome version 25.0.1364.68 beta-m and I still cannot play HTML 5 video.
Can you advise how I can alert Google to this problem? Many thanks.

You may use:
chrome://feedback/?session_id=1&tab_index=3&description=&categoryTag=
Or go to the "Customize and control Google Chrome" button (usually on the right side of the address bar), click on it, go to the About Google Chrome option, and click where is says "Report an issue".

Hello Diego
An update on this for you. I've found that if I append the syntax " --disable-gpu-sandbox" to the Chrome shortcut, HTML5 videos suddenly work perfectly again.
I've submitted a report to Google, but I will not receive a reply to this. From my comment above it appears as though Chrome is blacklisting the Intel HD4000 GPU. Is there anything Intel can do to prompt the Chrome team to sort this out?
Best regards

Hi Diego
Latest release of Chrome released today (26.0.1410.43 m) appears to have fixed the HTML5 video problem. Videos now work when I remove the "disable GPU sandbox" argument. Whatever you said did the trick!
Thanks!
