I have an Acer Aspire A315-58 laptop with Intel Iris Xe Graphics, and I’m trying to use driver version 32.0.101.6651 because it’s required for Sea of Thieves to launch properly.
I manually downloaded and installed the latest driver from the Intel website, and Device Manager says it’s up to date. However, Sea of Thieves still tells me to update my graphics drivers, and Windows Update keeps forcing an older driver version, which causes the game to not work.
I’ve tried disabling automatic driver updates and used the “Show or hide updates” troubleshooter, but Windows keeps reinstalling the older version anyway.
Can you help me stop Windows from downgrading my drivers or ensure my system uses the correct one for Sea of Thieves?
Thank you!

Hi Cassim,
It seems that you're facing issues with installing a specific driver version as Windows keeps reverting it back to a different one. Please be informed that product you are reporting is an OEM original equipment manufacturer device. Kindly take into consideration that our support may be limited since we are not familiar with the technology, settings and customizations that the OEM has designed on your system, However I will do my best to assist you with your concern.
While using a laptop or what is considered as OEM device, we really recommend using the drivers from the OEM as it is already customized to be compatible with the laptop. Have you tried using the drivers from your OEM to check if same issue will persist?
Additionally, please confirm if the below steps is what you followed and if not, kindly follow them.
- Download the appropriate driver for your system from the appropriate link - 32.0.101.6732
- Click the Download button to download the .exe file.
- Run the downloaded .exe.
- During the installation process, when you reach the Install stage, click the Customize button.
- Make sure not to enable the Execute a clean installation check box.
- After finishing the driver installation, click the Optional reboot button.
