Intel RAID and missing drives

Booted up windows today and the BIOS had reset itself..so my Intel RAID was set to normal IDE. I went back to the BIOS and enabled RAID mode.

To my horrors when I was back in Windows 2 out of the 4 RAID disks shows up in the intel manager as non raid disks. So the RAID volume is failed

I was running storage matrix 8.9.. I tried downgreading to 8.8 and 8.7 in desperation.

Any suggestions in how to make the Intel software read the disks again ?

I also noticed that disk manager in windows was happy to see those 2 non raid disks and try to make volumes out of them. But I didn't initialize any of them.
