Intel driver updates won't install?

I'm running Windows 7 32-bit Home Premium on a laptop with Intel Core i3 processor.

The update utility didn't work (firefox) so I found the update manually (Version: 15.22.50.2509)

Whenever I try to install it the dialogue box just closes with out any error messages or anything.

I tried both the.zip and the .exe.

How can I fix this problem?

Thanks!

Could you post a bit more information on your laptop make and model?

Hi, I really, REALLY hope this topic isn't too dead, but I'm having this exact same problem. After doing some research, I think the problem is that there are some kind of compatibility issues between Fujitsu and Intel (at least, it's Fujitsu in my case). Apparently the installer can't verify with Windows that it's the correct device and force-closes itself. I have, of course, tried the generic driver, but I'm simply told that it's incompatible with my card and just fails.

Look here and follow the steps. Mark answered if this helps you.

I've already tried this. Because Fujitsu has a customized version of the driver, the generic driver update doesn't work. It simply says it's incompatible and fails.

That's the message I get when I try to Have Disk the generic driver -- and I'm fairly positive I downloaded the correct one.

Can you please post the display tab screen of dxdiag?

(Hope you know that already, if not, type dxdiag in run prompt.)

Go to start, type dxdiag and press enter. In the dxdiag page, there is a button "save all information". Please click that, get the report and post it here. So that it would be easy to assist you.

Pasted it there 'cause I wasn't sure how to post it here without stretching the page. (Or maybe there's a feature that detects that and shortens it, but still.)

Your system is 64 bit based one. Can you please tell me which driver did you exactly download? Or post the download link for the driver you downloaded.

Whoops, looks like I'd downloaded the 32-bit driver. It's always the obvious little things, isn't it? Thanks for the help, though, I guess I just needed that slapped in my face, haha.

That's what exactly my guess was. Btw, it's good that you figured it out.

Hope my first post helps as wel.
