Hello All,
I have a Sony vaio VPCS13DGX/B laptop. It has a Intel dual core i5 480m processor with nvidia geforce cuda 310m, 512mb dedicated ram. I have read online that this processor comes in with a integrated GMA HD graphics. But I can't see it in the display adapters. Does all the processors of this kind comes with GMA or is there a catch? I badly need intel graphics as I want to set up wireless display on my laptop. Please help me with this and let me know if I can achieve this, let me know if you need more information. I have this netgear ptv device sitting and I want to use it.
more info: i am running windows7 64bit and the chipset i have is intel 5 series 3400 HM55.
Thanks in advance.
Ganesh.

Hi there!
The Intel i5-480M Processor indeed comes with HD Graphics http://ark.intel.com/products/52952/Intel-Core-i5-480M-Processor-%283M-Cache-2_66-GHz%29 http://ark.intel.com/products/52952/Intel-Core-i5-480M-Processor-%283M-Cache-2_66-GHz%29 this included on the processor, and however, since your computer comes with Nvidia card, this is disabled electronically. You will need to check with Sony about this and check if there is any setting at BIOS level to enable Intel graphics instead.
If there are no settings to enable the Intel video, this means that your BIOS has blocked such functionality
Thanks
Allan

Hi Allan,
I am sure just like you said, there is an embedded graphics card on my processor.
There is no option to enable it from BIOS. Will sony be able to unlock advanced features in my BIOS and enable the graphics card?
Or is there any other way I can do that? Just asking to know If you have ever heard of such situations and if this has ever been achieved?
Thanks
Ganesh.
