Laptop crash after latest graphics driver clean install

Found an old laptop that I decided to re-use, a Lenovo Ideapad S145-141WL I got in early 2020.

After booting up I saw the icon that said a new Intel driver was available - selected that through the driver update tool and went for a clean install.

After reboot, was running Windows update to see if I needed anything when the screen flashed multiple colours and then went black. Tried to reboot, nothing on the display, canbnot boot in safe mode (same issue).

Tried multiple reboot options (discharge circuitry, reboot 3 times to force startup options etc), still cannot get the display to function.

Ideally I should roll back the driver to the default one from the motherboard, but am unable to get this laptop to display anything in order to do that.

Would appreciate any assistance in getting this laptop up and running so I can make use of it.

1. On working PC create  Windows Installation Media.

2. Boot from this USB, select Language and then click on Repair my PC.

3. On the Choose an option screen, select Troubleshoot. Your computer should boot in Advanced Option Menu.

4. Click on System Restore. Chose the restore point to get your Windows to the last working configuration.

Thanks.

This was one of the first things I tried to do, but it does not work.

The boot sequence has the SSD first and USB is lower down the list.

As the disk starts the boot sequence on power-up (can be heard spinning) the laptop will not look to engage second or third boot options. However, whilst I can hear the disk, the screen remains black.

There seems no option to get to a visible screen to make any changes to the device, BIOS, Settings etc.

At the moment, I am looking at a 4 year-old laptop that Intel graphics software has killed.

Change the boot oder in BIOS (USB first) or press F12 or (Fn+F12) rapidly and repeatedly at the Lenovo logo during bootup to open Windows Boot Manager.
