Some questions for you to answer:
- Who is system/motherboard manufacturer?
- What are model number(s) for the system/motherboard?
- What memory do you have installed (provide part numbers for DIMM(s)/SODIMM(s) included)? [Yes, this can be important.]
- What is the model number of the DisplayPort monitor?
- What type of DisplayPort connector does the system/motherboard provide? DisplayPort? Mini DisplayPort? USB-C? Something else?
[Aside: If USB-C, it must support Thunderbolt or DisplayPort ALT Mode.]
- What type of cable are you using (what exactly does it say on the cable)?
[Aside: You want one that says 'HBR2' (or 'HBR3') and/or says it supports '21.60 Gbit/s' (or better).]
- Is this a new connection? If not, was it working previously?
- What Intel HD Graphics 520 driver version is installed?
That's enough questions for a start...
