Right now I have two monitors connected to the connectors in my laptop. There is one hdmi and one VGA. The laptop monitor is off and cannot be turned on.
I have an ASUS laptop with Intel HD 4000 graphics.
It will not let me activate the other monitor.
I was going to get a third monitor and connect it with a usb graphics card. Although I'm under the concept that this will not work because this card only powers 3 monitors if two of them are display port, which my computer does not have, or the other one is the screen but it has to be a display port and not the different kind.
Before I get a third monitor and graphic plug I want to be sure this will work.

Hi wonderingguy,
Intel HD 4000 supports up to 3 monitors; however, pre-build systems have customized graphics drivers by their manufacturer so they can change the amount of Displays supported.
Triple display with box processors
