I cannot get the Intel driver to install and make my PC recognize the iGPU of the processor.
Intel Arc Control Software:
"The Arc API failed to initialize..giving limited functionality"
Device Manager:
"This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)"
The Arc Control software has also previously given me a code 8.
There is a yellow exclamation mark in device manager for Intel Iris Xe Graphics.
- I have tried uninstalling from program apps and disconnecting from the network before re-installing both the latest, and the previous graphics driver.
- I have tried the 'Add Legacy Hardware' method in Device Manager.
Arc Control states "Current Driver version - Released: Invalid Date", and will not do anything if I try to use that to update.
- I have tried deleting any driver in device manager and installing via Windows Update. It installed an Intel driver, but again had an exclamation mark against it.
- I have tried uninstalling my NVidia dGPU driver, and then installing the downloaded update Intel driver, but didn't work.
My BIOS does not show an option to enable the iGPU.
- I have reset the BIOS to default settings.
- I recently found an update BIOS driver and applied that. Made no difference.
I am not sure what to try next.
nb. I have a Intel Core i7-14700
Any help much appreciated.

So the Intel support engineers can have more information about your system, Please download and run the Intel System Support Utility (https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility-for-Windows- ) for Windows. Select all data categories and then have it generate a report. Next, have the tool Save the report to a text file (don't try to use the Submit capability; it doesn't work). Finally, using the Drag and drop here or browse files to attach dialog below the edit box for the body of your response post, upload and attach this file to the response post.

Just for information - I am pretty sure this might be related. I recently had a crash with Bitlocker and almost couldn't get back in. I had to clear CMOS and then reboot just for the BIOS to open ie. the display wouldn't turn on. I have decrypted all disks now back to default.

I do not see that you have any ARC graphics. I also see that your bios is in legacy mode, and not UEFI.
You need convert ro UEFI/GPT (or do a fresh install with UEFI bios) before anything else can be done.

Earlier I forgot to turn off the power supply having shut down and I pressed the clear CMOS button for about 3 seconds before realizing. The PC started up, and when I checked the device manager it showed a normal entry for Intel UHD Graphics 770 without errors.
I rebooted to check the BIOS and the iGPU had appeared and been selected. Very strange. I checked WIndows Settings>System>Display>Graphics and it was in there.
Then I rebooted back into Windows again to check this, and this time a check of the Device Manager - the Intel driver had disappeared again!
I have just re-flashed the BIOS and the iGPU entry still missing from BIOS, and of course therefore not appearing in Device Manager.
nb. In regards to the UEFI, I have set that as on, and also set CMA so that I can see the Asus splash screen on boot and actually be able to get into BIOS. If I try restarting without CMA on - I can't get into the BIOS and get the 'boot' error light on the Q-Led display*; and i have to hard shutdown, then turn off the PC at the power supply and do a clear CMOS, to be able to start the PC up again and have it boot in Windows. *If I don't attempt to boot into BIOS in the first place, the system boots normally into Windows.
So basically I have 2 issues - the booting problem into the BIOS; and the iGPU not showing in BIOS.
I have previously removed my other 2 SSD's to see if any change with the boot/BIOS issue, and not.

Then, you need to contact asustek for support with their bios.

Just done that - but probably not that simple.
Basically I have been using Handbrake recently to encode some video files to 1080p. I noticed that the CPU was reaching 100˚C usage during the processes. I noted on a different forum that there was a notice:
"Intel's CPU instability and crashing issues also impact mainstream 65W and higher 'non-K' models - damage is irreversible, no planned recall". (Source: https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/cpu-at-100-usage-when-encoding-with-nvenc.3763041/)
As stated I have an i7-14700K.
I did originally 'think' that this iGPU issue was due to Bitlocker - but I can see more of a link with this Handbrake thing now.
So, it actually looks like my CPU is partially fried and I have to replace it (with a more stable replacement that also uses the motherboard's LGA 1700 socket)..I don't fancy having to fork out for a whole new board too with different architecture - or having to swap over to AMD. That would also mean having to rebuild my whole PC! - I also wouldn't fancy dropping down to the Intel Core i5-13600K or 14600K (which are supposedly rated better thermally despite having the same TDP values) - if that means a significant drop in performance - I require something high performing for my gaming and productivity tasks. I originally wanted an i9!, but didn't quite have the budget.
I bet that I stick in a new CPU and the UHD 770 iGPU gets recognized in the BIOS.
Thoughts on whether this is more likely the cause - the diagnosis - and on which CPU I need next?
