Problem with Graphics HD 4000/Display Adapter

So to begin with, when I updated to the newest Windows 10 point something, the brightness controls weren't working. After some research, I found that there was a glitch in the new update and the only way to fix it was going back to the old version. In order to do that, I had to uninstall the full Intel Graphics Driver but when I try downloading the new (I guess technically old) Graphics Driver, it says "Your computer does not meet the minimum requirement to install this". After a little more research, I think I found my problem. Instead of seeing "Basic Microsoft Display Adapter" under Display Adapters in Device Manager, I don't even have a display adapter period.

How do I fix that?

I have a

Try this: http://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles/1hvh14w8.exe Intel Video Driver for 64-bit Windows

Got it from here: http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS034266 Drivers and software - IdeaPad P400 Touch Notebook

(For Windows 8 64-bit) Download and install it. If I got you're OS wrong you can go to that website and select the right one.

Post back if you have any issues!

Perhaps it is showing up in "Other devices" or "Unknown device".

You may try the manual installation method or Windows* System Restore.

Joe, thanks for your reply but I tried both options and I am still getting the "Your computer....install this" message and I still can't find the display adapter in "other devices" or "unknown device". Any more advice?

Please provide the System Information report (press Windows* key + R, type "msinfo32", press OK and then Export).

Downloading the driver worked! Before when I tried downloading, I got the same "Computer is not compatible" message but after the System Restore, it worked perfectly, thanks!
