Hello!
Latest driver 32.0.101.6127 WHQL and 32.0.101.6044 Non-WHQL seems to have a problem when working with Lightroom. Editing photos takes much longer when doing adjustments, with "GPU processing..." icon appearing when it didn't before. Also, when syncing adjustments between photos GPU is used way less than with other drivers.
The only solution is to rollback to the latest working version 32.0.101.6078 WHQL
I have a HP ENVY 16 with Iris Xe and ARC 370M with a Intel 12th Gen i7. I don't know if the problem resides in the fact that this driver also includes graphics drivers for the Built-in Intel® Arc™ GPUs with select Intel® Core™ Ultra Series 2 Processors, when installed in a non Core Ultra Series.
Thank you!

Hello franciscomnunes,
Thank you for posting in Intel Communities.
To get a better understanding of the issue and be able to provide an effective recommendation, please provide the missing key information here:
1) Is the software 'Lightroom' previously worked on this HP Envy 16 laptop and then failed, or is it a first-time installation and never worked?
2) if previously working, were there any changes made before the issue?
3) I would like to know more about your system details to fully understand where the issue truly lies. Additionally, I would highly appreciate you sharing your system configuration so we can fully check and provide you with an accurate fix. This could be possible by downloading the Intel® System Support Utility for Windows* software. When the download is complete, launch SSU.exe.
- Scan: Check the box Everything.
- Click Scan.
- Review: When finished scanning, click Next.
- Click Save (.txt). *Please attach the SSU log file as you reply.
4) ) Please use Intel Arc Control to capture screenshots or a video showing the bug.
I will wait for your reply.
Best regards,
JeanetteC.

Hello JeanetteC.,
1) Yes, the software Lightroom had previously worked normally in this laptop;
2) the issue appeared with the installation of driver version 32.0.101.6127 WHQL and 32.0.101.6044 Non-WHQL;
3) I'll send you the SSU Scan;
4) I removed the driver which caused the issue and rolled back to the latest working version 32.0.101.6078 WHQL
Thank you

Hello franciscomnunes,
Good day!
I checked possible newer drivers from your system manufacturer but I could not see specific drivers for the Intel® Arc™ A370M Graphics. It is highly recommended to install OEM drivers, since it is customized specifically for your system device/model.
For now, you may install the latest generic driver from our Download Center, Intel® Graphics Driver 32.0.101.6130/32.0.101.6048. Please make sure to proceed with a clean installation.
If the issue persists, you may have to contact your system manufacturer to check their latest graphics drivers.
Let me know how it goes.
Best regards,
JeanetteC.

Hi Jeanette,
I normally always proceed with a clean installation of new drivers. I tried with previous driver version Intel® Graphics Driver 32.0.101.6129/32.0.101.6045 and the issue persisted. Moreover, this issue started appearing with the bundle drivers versions, with the single ones it was ok.
Also, when clean installing this new latest drivers bundles the pc behaves differently - the screen resolution doesn't change anymore before installing new driver as it used to.
Performance with OEM drivers is even worse. I believe the issue is on your side as with drivers up to 32.0.101.6078 WHQL everything worked normally.
Have a good day!
Thank you

Hello franciscomnunes,
Thank you for sharing thhis update. I just hope to inform you that Intel provides generic versions of software and drivers.
- Your computer manufacturer may have altered the features, incorporated customizations, or made other changes.
- If you have an OEM device, contact Computer Manufacturer Support Websites for best driver compatibility with your system.
But for now, let me further check on this issue and I will post an update once it's available.
Best regards,
JeanetteC.

Hi JeanetteC.,
Thank you for your response.
Let me just tell you, which may be of interest, that when checking for new drivers through Intel D&SA it shows drivers are currently up to date, despite newer versions in the Intel Arc & Iris Xe Graphics website. This is odd because normally when a new driver is available Intel D&SA shows it.
Thank you!

Hello franciscomnunes,
Thank you for the update.
Yes because Intel® Driver & Support Assistant reference is Intel's generic drivers that is why you may get a message that the drivers are up to date. However, OEM may alter or modify the controllers and those changes are unknown to us. So to enable those enhancements, OEM manufacturers will provide their own drivers.
If you have questions, please let us know. Thank you.

ello franciscomnunes,
Good day.
I understand that you are waiting for the WHQL version of the latest driver, however it is not available yet. In case you haven't checked yet, we another driver, version 32.0.101.6299. In case you want to try, please proceed with clean installation using DDU.
I'll also check internally if we have visibility on incoming driver versions, specifically the WHQL versions so I can share it with you.
Best regards,
JeanetteC.

Hi Jeanette,
I keep on checking the driver's site and I've seen it already. I'm still waiting for the WHQL version (I once tried a non-WHQL version and it had some issues).
Let me know on about incoming WHQL driver versions, I appreciate it.
Best regards,
Francisco

Hello franciscomnunes,
I'm still checking on when will the next release of WHQL version be. I just hope to gather the following details below:
1) Can you please clarify as to what specific Adobe Lightroom version you are using since there are 2 versions (Lightroom - formerly called Lightroom CC or Lightroom Classic)? Please also share the exact version being used.
2) Can you share the workflow/exact steps so we can replicate on our end?
I hope to hear from you soon.
Best regards,
JeanetteC.

Hi Jeanette,
Thank you for your response.
1) I'm using Lightroom Classic 14.0.1
2) The workflow is as follows: anytime I tried to edit a raw image in the Develop module the image would slowly "render" when first selected and any adjustment would be slower than usual, with a small loading circle icon appearing in the bottom right corner of the imagem panel with an attached message (GPU processing..., or something like this); this process would even take longer if the image had any masks.
3) I tried installing latest version Graphics Driver 32.0.101.6299 but it was even worse - all the screen became suddenly darker and this was specially noticed when editing images again in Lightroom, where darker parts of the image would became black instead of dark gray. Even the start menu which is grayish became a lot darker.
I had to uninstall all drivers through DDU and am again on the latest WHQL version, which so far is the only version that works.
This is really troublesome because I never know if I can install a new driver without the distress of having to return to a previous one.
Thank you

Hi Jeanette,
So today a new WHQL driver version 32.0.101.6314 WHQL was made available and I upgraded and tried, but the result was the same as with previous versions.
I upgraded the drivers through Arc Control - since it was the first time I was doing a driver upgrade after a clean DDU uninstall and install, it still worked, as it is described in several posts here in the forum.
I managed to do some screen capture so you can better see what I was talking about in the first posts. Here again, with the newer driver Lightroom performs worse. Oddly enough this behavior started happening with the latest drivers which are bigger in size when compared with the one I'm using now.
It's really troublesome when a new driver is released and you expect it to perform better but it does exactly the opposite. I just had to clean reinstall the older version, and because the windows update installs its own drivers, install again the driver so I have both GPUS with the same version.
The driver upgrade process should really be easier than this! This really makes me ponder next time I have to buy a laptop if it comes with an Intel dGPU or not.
Thank you
Francisco

Hello franciscomnunes,
Good day!
I have tested the following graphics driver versions: 32.0.101.6130_101.6048, 32.0.101.6127_101.6044, and 32.0.101.6299 (latest). During my tests, I did not encounter any issues with loading (render), adjusting the image, or colors.
I would like to thank you for sharing the screen capture as this may help us replicate the problem better.
I proceed with further investigation of the issue and will post an update once it's available.
Best regards,
JeanetteC.

Hello Jeanette,
Thank you for your answer.
It works fine with 32.0.101.6078 WHQL, the others seem to perform worse. I'm sticking with this one for now.
Let me know what you find.
Thank you,
Francisco

Hello @franciscomnunes,
I'm contacting you on behalf of my technician. I would like to ask if you can uninstall the graphics driver using DDU and install the latest Intel® Arc™ & Iris® Xe Graphics - Windows*?
Latest graphics driver: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/785597/intel-arc-iris-xe-graphics-windows.html
DDU: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000091878/graphics.html

Hi Ernesto,
Thank you for your answer.
It's sad the issue would only be corrected by having to unistall all drivers and install everything again because it is really time consuming.
Nevertheless, I uninstalled using DDU and installed latest driver but the issue persists, so it didn't work. Images with masks take longer to adjust settings than with older driver version.
Also, latest driver has to be installed twice or Intel Graphics Software and Task Manager won't both open.
I send you also a system info created in Lightroom, it may help.
Thank you
Francisco
