Thank you for posting in our Community. Based on your report, it does appear that the update to driver version 32.0.101.6913 may have triggered an unexpected regression in graphics performance on your Samsung NP550XDA notebook with Intel® Iris® Xe Graphics. The fact that reverting to a previous version (31.0.101.4885) did not fully restore performance suggests there may be lingering effects, possibly driver remnants or a configuration conflict introduced during the update process. To help us further investigate and determine the best course of action, may I kindly ask for the following details:

  • Did you install the drivers manually or through Windows Update / Intel® Driver & Support Assistant (IDSA)?

  • Could you please confirm the exact BIOS version currently installed on your system?
  • I'd like to delve deeper and verify specifics like the graphics models, precise driver versions, and any system errors. Utilizing the Intel SSU tool will enable me to collect detailed information about your system setup, which could aid in identifying the underlying cause of this issue.
  • Additionally, if you have done any other tests, please let me know the details so we don't cover the same ground twice.

You also noted that sudden FPS drops are now occurring, which hadn’t happened previously. To help us better analyze the performance behavior, may I kindly ask you to provide a CapFrameX capture for the affected game?

For the most accurate assessment, please ensure the capture includes at least 2 to 5 minutes of gameplay. This will allow us to thoroughly examine the performance metrics and identify any irregularities.

Have a nice day!

 Hello,

Thank you for your reply and assistance. Below is the full information as requested:

The graphics driver version 32.0.101.6913 was installed using the Intel® Driver & Support Assistant (IDSA).

My BIOS version is:
American Megatrends International, LLC. P23CFB.053.241029.HQ, 10/29/2029

After updating to this driver, performance issues began in multiple games, especially Dead by Daylight and Overwatch 2. Both games are configured to the lowest graphics settings and used to run smoothly. Now, even basic actions like opening menus or moving the camera cause stutters or sudden FPS drops.

I attempted to roll back to version 31.0.101.4885, which worked well in the past, but performance did not return to normal. Even after a clean install of the older driver, FPS drops and stuttering persisted.

I’ve now attached the following for further analysis:

Intel SSU report

CapFrameX performance captures from both Dead by Daylight and Overwatch 2

Let me know if you'd like additional captures or tests. I'm happy to assist further in reproducing or confirming the issue.

Thank you again for your support!

Hello problemasnovodriver,

Thank you so much for your detailed response and for providing the requested information and performance captures. I reviewed the CapFrameX files you shared, and I noticed that they are in .csv format. To perform a complete analysis and accurately assess the FPS behavior and frame pacing issues you're experiencing, we kindly ask that you provide the CapFrameX data in .json format. This format contains more comprehensive data needed for our internal review tools.

If possible, please re-export the performance captures from CapFrameX as .json files and share them with us. Once received, we’ll continue investigating the performance irregularities you’ve observed in Dead by Daylight and Overwatch 2, particularly after the driver update.

Moreover, what digital platform are you using to play those games? We need to ensure we download and replicate using the same platform. Also, could you provide your game settings so we can replicate them exactly?

Have a nice day!

Hello problemasnovodriver,

Thank you for your continued patience and for sharing the details of your experience so far. I’ve carefully reviewed the information provided in the thread, and while it's still unclear if this is a compatibility-related issue, we’d like to perform some further troubleshooting to better isolate the root cause.

To proceed, please follow these steps:

  • Perform a clean installation using DDU and install version 32.0.101.6913  WHQL Certified (Latest).
  • If the issue persists, try using the oldest available graphics driver, version 32.0.101.6732, to help isolate the problem.
  • For the crashing issue, are there any error messages? If so, what is the exact error message you're receiving? If possible, generate dump files and follow the steps: How to generate dump files
  • Is the issue occurring only during gameplay?
  • Have you had a chance to reach out to Samsung Support regarding this issue? Their assistance may also provide insight, especially if this is hardware-specific.
  • Also, I understand you're experiencing issues with more than one game, and we genuinely appreciate the detailed information you've provided so far. To ensure we can offer the most accurate and effective support, we kindly ask that you create a separate support thread for each game where you're encountering issuesEach game may involve different factors such as system requirements, optimization differences, or driver interactions, and having dedicated threads will allow us to provide more focused troubleshooting steps tailored to each scenario.

If the issue remains, I kindly ask you to provide CapFrameX data for this game. This will help us analyze performance metrics more thoroughly and identify any issues. However, please share a CapFrameX file that captures a minimum of 3 minutes of gameplay, as the logs provided only cover less than 30 seconds, which is insufficient for a comprehensive performance analysis.

Additionally, please be informed that we highly recommend using OEM drivers. Since this is an OEM original equipment manufacturer device, please take into consideration that our support may be limited since we are not familiar with the technology, settings, customizations, custom drivers, and features that the OEM has designed and installed on your system.

Furthermore, I have sent you an email about this matter.

Best regards,
