Problems with games

Hi everyone.
I recently acquired an ARC B580 Limited Edition motherboard and while testing some games I'm having problems. For example, in RDR2, it's locked at 30 FPS on any graphics preset. Before, with my RTX 2060, I could run the game normally and never had problems. I found it strange and went to test Cyberpunk on the Ultra preset, and it's running at a locked 80 FPS.

Does anyone have a solution? I've already tried everything possible, uninstalled all video drivers, installed older drivers, and had no success.

PC Specs:
I5-11400F
16 GB RAM
B560GTQ BIOSTAR Group Motherboard
650W XPG Power Supply

Hi  HelioMarchetto,

Thank you for reaching out to the Intel Community Forum. To assist us in investigating the issue, please provide the following details:

  • When did you first encounter the issue?
  • Was the issue isolated only on Read Dead Redemption 2 and Cyberpunk or all of your games?
  • That troubleshooting steps was taken to attempt to resolve the issue?
  • May I know if you have tried removing the previous NVIDIA graphics using the Display Driver Uninstaller before installing the latest Intel Arc Graphics Driver?

Additionally, Please help generate the SSU logs of your system. Kindly refer to the link below on how to generate the logs:

How to get the Intel® System Support Utility Logs on Windows*

If you have any questions, please let us know. Thank you.

Best regards,

Hi Patrick. The answers are below.

When did you first encounter the issue?
- After installing the drivers and starting RDR2, I noticed that the FPS is lower than expected, while maintaining the graphics settings used before.

Was the issue isolated only on Read Dead Redemption 2 and Cyberpunk or all of your games?
- So far this has only happened in RDR2; games from the older Assassin's Creed saga are performing okay, considering the lack of optimization (60-70 FPS Ultra settings).

That troubleshooting steps was taken to attempt to resolve the issue?
- What would those solutions be?

May I know if you have tried removing the previous NVIDIA graphics using the Display Driver Uninstaller before installing the latest Intel Arc Graphics Driver?
- Yes, DDU was run to completely remove the old drivers.

Here are the requested logs.

Hi  HelioMarchetto,

Thank you for providing the additional information requested. I would like to request further information to Isolate the Issue

  • Where did you install the game(Steam, Epic, Etc)?
  • Exact Game Version
  • Is there a specific part of the game where you encounter the low FPS or does it occur after starting the game?

I would also like to obtain 3 CapFrameX log to thoroughly analyze the FPS performance. Kindly ensure that the game would run for a minimum of 3 minutes each.

 About CapFrameX

This is a 3rd party tool for frametimes capture and analysis based on Intel's PresentMon. The overlay is provided by Rivatuner Statistics Server (RTSS).

CapFrameX Installation instructions:

  1. Go to https://www.capframex.com/download and download the latest version of CapframeX.
  2. Go to https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/rtss-rivatuner-statistics-server-download.html and download the latest version of RTSS.
  3. Unzip both installers and install them.
  4. Launch CapFrameX and then close it. This is so it creates the user Configuration folder.
  5. Download and unzip the file OverlayEntryConfiguration_0.json (attached in this post) with the recommended RTSS configuration.
  6. Paste this file to %userprofile%\Documents\CapFrameX\Configuration
  7. In the Capture tab, set the "Capture time" to 0. This is to remove the preset limit in capture time.
  8. In the Overlay tab, uncheck "Auto-Disable OSD" and click the save icon.

Capturing the Performance Data:

  1. Open CapframeX and do NOT minimize or close it.
  2. Open the game and go to the part of the game you need to be to reproduce the issue. You should see the RTSS overlay in the top left corner of your screen, with the status "<game name> ready to capture…".
  3. Press F11 to start capturing data and reproduce the issue. The Status in the overlay will change to "Recording frametimes XX s".
  4. Once you have reproduced the issue, press F11 to finish the data capturing. The Status in the overlay will change to "Processing data".
  5. Back to CapFrameX, you can find all the data captures in the left panel of the Analysis tab. Clicking any one of these captures will display the results on the right.
  6. To export the data captured as a JSON file, right click the capture and click on "Copy/paste recording file(s)".

If you have any questions, please let us know. Thank you.

Best regards,

Hi Patrick,

I managed to solve the problem. Actually, there was a game configuration folder in the Windows documents, and apparently there was a remnant of the RTX graphics settings there. After deleting the folder and running the game again, the FPS is now between 60 and 80 on ultra settings. Thank you for your attention and support!
