Repeating Request to Install Intel DCH driver

Marc_H

Hi,

since months I get a request from the Intel support assistant to install Intel DCH driver again and again, allthough I installed it countless times without any error messages.

Moreover, I get the impression, that after installing the DCH driver I get a request to update BIOS. I can't tell it for sure and I don't want to test it, because I'm fed up installing that Intel driver on and on.

Running system:

Windows 10 Pro 64 bit, version 21H2
installed ‎Sep 10 2020
build 19044.1586
Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.4170.0

Dell OptiPlex 3050

Intel Core i5-7500T CPU @ 2.70GHz 2.71 GHz

Hope you can help me. At least, I'd like to know how I can turn off the repeating request from Intel support assistant. Thank you in advance.

Best

Marc

Marc_H, Thank you for posting in the Intel® Communities Support.

In order to attempt to fix this problem, try using the different browsers supported by Intel® Driver Support Assistant: Chrome, Firefox, and Edge*

Also, clear the browser cache then test the Intel® Driver Support Assistant once again.

If the problem persists after that, please run the Intel® Driver & Support Assistant Uninstaller Version: 22.2.14.5: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/19333/intel-driver-support-assistant-uninstaller.html?v=t

Then restart and run the latest Intel® Driver & Support Assistant tool version 22.2.14.5:

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/18002/intel-driver-support-assistant.html?wapkw=intel%20driver%20support%20assistant%20intel%20dsa

If the issue remains, please provide the latest file from Intel® System Support Utility for Windows*:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility-for-Windows-?product=91600

The latest Intel® Driver & Support Assistant Uninstaller log file: using File Explorer, search for DSAUninstaller.log

And the latest Intel® Driver & Support Assistant log files: using File Explorer: go to folder = C:\ProgramData\Intel\DSA, and zip the Log files or entire folder.

Note: Uncheck "Hide System Files" to see the AppData folder.

"I get a request to update BIOS", we strongly recommend to get in contact directly with Dell support to verify that the latest BIOS version is currently installed on your machine or, if necessary, to gather the instructions on how to do that:

Hi Alberto,

first af all, thanks for the support.

I installed the driver using Edge instead of my standard browser (Firefox). Before installing I cleared the browser's cache. Until then, everything seems to work fine. I didn't get any messages from the support assistant. But I'd like to wait for a couple of days before giving the all-clear, because the repeating message to install the DCH driver again always reappeard after some time.

Perfect, excellent, it is great to know that "everything seems to work fine" with Intel® DSA after using Edge and by clearing the browser's cache.

The case will be open for a couple of days as requested. If any issues reappeared, please let us know so we can further assist you.

Here we are again. 🙁

A couple of days ago Intel Assistant stated that there's an update for the DCH driver. This time as suggested above, I uninstalled the Assistant and installed the latest version. After that I installed the DCH driver.

I'll keep you in touch whats going on now... 😒

Hi Albert,

after the new installation of the DCH driver Dell stated an update for the BIOS (to version 1.2.0). After updating BIOS the Intel Assistant stated to update the DCH driver. So I attached the files you requested in your post from April 8th.
