Hello Intel Graphics Team,
I am writing to report a DirectX 12 rendering issue on Intel Iris Xe Graphics (12th Gen i7-1255U) and to request improvements in driver-level support for modern DX12 titles.
I have been testing Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 (PC), and while performance is acceptable (often 40–60 FPS), the game exhibits severe rendering problems, including:
Black or missing textures
Delayed texture streaming
Random objects rendering incorrectly or not at all
After extensive troubleshooting and research, I believe the issue is related to incomplete or unstable DX12 feature support and shader pipeline failures on Iris Xe.
Evidence from logs:
“Unsupported GPU detected: Intel Iris Xe Graphics”
“Max supported feature level: 11.0”
Repeated failures:
CreateGraphicsPipelineState failed (HRESULT 0x80070057)
These errors strongly indicate that certain DX12 pipeline states and shaders are not compiling or executing correctly on the current driver.
System details:
CPU: Intel Core i7-1255U
GPU: Intel Iris Xe (integrated)
Driver version tested: 32.0.101.7085 (latest at time of testing)
RAM: 16 GB
OS: Windows 11
Observations:
The game runs smoothly in terms of FPS, which suggests raw performance is not the issue.
Problems appear specifically in rendering, indicating driver or API-level limitations rather than hardware incapability alone.
Older drivers slightly reduce rendering issues but introduce instability, suggesting regressions in newer drivers.
Request:
I would like to request:
Improved DirectX 12 compatibility and stability for Iris Xe GPUs
Better handling of shader compilation and pipeline state creation
Optimization for modern texture streaming systems used in recent AAA games
Investigation into feature level limitations and possible workarounds or emulation paths
I understand that Iris Xe is not a high-end GPU, but it is capable of running many modern titles. With better driver optimization, issues like this could be significantly reduced.
This problem is not isolated and appears to affect multiple users running DX12-heavy games.
Thank you for your time and continued driver support.
Sincerely,
A concerned Intel user

Hi Prateek0,
Thank you for reaching out to the Intel Community Forum. Rest assured that I understand your concern and request; however, please be advised that based on our checks, we have concluded that the difficulties arise from the game's system requirements. While the game may occasionally function with different driver versions, we have verified that Intel Iris Xe Graphics does not meet the minimum requirements specified by the game developers. Although some users might have managed to run earlier versions or similar titles, this version appears to employ newer rendering features that are unsupported or unstable on this hardware. We recommend reaching out directly to the game developers, as they are best positioned to determine if support or a workaround is feasible.
With that being said, please be advised that I will proceed to close this inquiry. Should you require further assistance or have additional questions, please feel free to submit a new request. Kindly note that this thread will no longer be monitored once closed.
L:astly, please take note of the following:
- As of September 19, 2025, Intel will move 11th-14th Gen Intel Processor Graphics and related Intel Atom®, Pentium®, and Celeron® processor graphics to a legacy software support model. Intel will provide software support for affected products only for critical fixes and security vulnerabilities. Software updates for these products will move to a quarterly release cadence with additional critical releases as needed.
- Only critical fixes and security vulnerabilities will be addressed in quarterly driver releases going forward.
Best regards,

intel why said iris xe shader model 6.7 and no d3d12.2 ultimate, am confused because if it has those shader are enought to run anything but crashes and can't run some d3d12 games so please fix your shaders model version to real ones because most i get crash or splash colour mostly too dark or redish or bright white light if it manages to boot am a fan and i love Intel product since early sandybridge i used to struggle with hd 2000 and 3000 ended up using mesa drivers to help, please fix our intel iris xe dont end its life too early and no modded drivers or please give us testing beta or nightly drivers for testing to improve like how mesa driver in linux is, thank you i will always love Intel even, grow up from the era and i believe people like us we came from long far chain of intel hd graphics family with tweaks and modding, i believe in them they will give us something to help our intel iris xe even if they are focus on big brother intel Arc...Intel my number one and best ever developers
