Screen tearing with latest GMA4500MHD driver

I have recently installed the latest GMA4500MHD driver on my laptop and have noticed a lot of screen tearing. This usually happens when viewing Flash videos, or scrolling web pages up and down. I don't believe I noticed this is the previous driver. Here is my machine information.

Toshiba Satellite L305 with GMA4500MHD, Windows Vista 32, 2GB RAM, Intel driver version 15.16.5.2021 (8.15.10.2021) 12/18/2009

Any help would be great!

TRY THIS - it worked for me...

Increase Virtual Memory

1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.

2. Click on View by and set to Large Icons under Category. Click System.

3 . In the left pane, click Advanced system settings.

4 .On the Advanced tab, under Performance, click Settings.

5. Click the Advanced tab, and then, under Virtual memory, choose Change.

6. Click Custom to change the Initial size (MB) and Maximum size.

Hot tip: Keep the initial and maximum size the same to cut down on your CPU access. This will stop your CPU from constantly change your Virtual memory paging size. Also set the size 1.5 times higher than your physical memory.

I don't think this helped the video issue. I did change the virtual memory and I did notice an improvement in performance, just not the screen tearing. Are the any settings within the driver that might help? I noticed there are some driver settings such as advanced deinterlacing, sharpness and noise that can be set. I have these set at the defaults and auto adjust currently.

Thanks for the previous response. While that didn't help, as I said, it did help in other ways I did not expect.

I have actually found a fix for my problem! It was not even related to the latest Intel GMA 4500 MHD driver. I believe the issue had to do with I disabled the Aero on Vista. After trying my old drivers, the OEM drivers, etc... none of these worked. I came across some other vsync/screen tearing problems online which had to do with Aero.

Either way, aparently disabling Aero will disable vsync on all video cards. I wonder if there is a way to disable Aero and keep vsync?

that IS interesting, because at around the same time that i 'fixed' my problem. i also switched back to Aero.... hmmmmmmmmm there must be a link!
