Updating UHD Graphics Driver

I had a message from Lightroom today to say that my graphics driver (23.20.16.4974) may cause performance and stability issues. They advised updating to 100.8476 or later.

I downloaded the Intel update gfx_win_101.3222_101.2111.exe and ran this. I received an error message saying that, 'Your system has a driver that is locked to manufacturer specifications. Please try downloading the latest driver from the manufacturer's website to update. Exit code: 1.'

When I looked at the Error Log (attached) it ended with:

2022/08/21 08:17:45.183|ERROR|At least on one device is try to install 2ID DCH driver on 4ID legacy driver. Device name = "Intel(R) UHD Graphics 630". ||

So I'm a bit perplexed as it would appear that Intel is the manufacturer.

Any ideas as to what I can do to resolve this?

In this case, since your driver is locked by manufacturer,  I would try "clean" driver installation. Before starting this procedure, prepare full backup of your drive in order to be able restore your system to current state in case that something will go wrong.

Please read the Clean Installation of Intel® Graphics Drivers in Windows.

In order to get better information about your system, please download the Intel System Support Utility (SSU). Run the SSU scan (check "Everything") and save the results. The .txt file with the results please attach to your post.

Hello @BobSapey

1. Not Intel is manufacturer of you computer, rather Asus is (you have PRIME Z370-P motherboard). Although you have the Intel CPU on your system and Intel® Graphics Driver 31.0.101.2111 supports CPU Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-8600K, you may lose features or customizations. Manufacturers sometime make changes to the Intel drivers. Therefore Intel recommends to work with the driver downloaded from the manufacturers site. In your case, the latest driver there is Version 25.20.100.6471

2. Other possibility is to download driver by Windows Update:

          - open Device Manager

          - Click on > Display Adapters

          - right mouse click on Intel(R) UHD Graphics 630

          - left click on Update Driver

          - click on "Search automatically for drivers"

Thank you for taking the time to help me.

I tried downloading the driver you recommend but it is not validated for my computer.

I had already tried updating via Device Manager and I get a message saying I already have the latest driver.

But Lightroom is still advising me to update.
