Hello Intel Support,
I am facing extremely poor performance with the Intel Arc A310 (Gigabyte Windforce OC) on my system (Ryzen 5 5600, 16GB RAM). Even on the very lowest settings, the GPU struggles heavily in GTA V, FiveM, and other games.
Here are the major issues:
FPS constantly jumps from 100 FPS → 11 FPS → back to 100 → then 5 FPS, making gameplay unstable.
Severe frame-time spikes even when FPS looks high.
Heavy stuttering during driving, fast movement, and combat.
Sudden 1–2 second freezes when loading new areas or textures.
GPU usage fluctuates between 20%–100% instead of staying steady.
VRAM usage goes above the card’s limit, causing extreme lag, texture delays, and slow map loading.
FiveM becomes nearly unplayable when VRAM is full.
Happens even after DDU, clean Windows install, BIOS updates, and driver reinstall.
Another major issue is the 43W power lock. The A310 architecture supports up to 75W, and the Gigabyte OC model is rated for 50W, yet Arc Control limits it to 43W. This limits performance and contributes to stuttering.
Overall performance is far below what an entry-level GPU should deliver.
Even in older games, the A310 often performs worse than expected, with low GPU usage and inconsistent frame pacing. A driver update that boosts performance is urgently needed.
I kindly request Intel to release a driver update that:
Fixes extreme FPS drops (100 ➝ 11 ➝ 5 FPS)
Stabilizes frame-times and reduces stutter
Improves optimization specifically for GTA V and FiveM
Fixes VRAM over-usage and lag when maxed
Removes or increases the 43W power limit
Increases overall performance across games
Improves stability for low-end Arc GPUs
Many Arc A310 users are experiencing these same problems, so a driver improvement would help the entire community.
Thank you for your attention,
Avijit Dey

Hi Randy,
Thanks again for the follow-up. I can’t provide screenshots or video right now, so here is the full explanation of my issue and all details:
Gameplay Behavior / Main Issue
• I’m playing GTA V (Epic Games).
• Both GTA V and FiveM run fine at the start.
• After around 25–30 minutes, they suddenly begin heavy stuttering, and the input lag becomes very noticeable.
• Other games (like Dark Souls 3) run, but performance feels a bit low — however, the major stuttering only happens in GTA V and FiveM.
• Restarting the game fixes the stutter temporarily, then it returns.
System / Temperatures / Network Check
• I monitored the system using MSI Afterburner — CPU and GPU temperatures stay normal, so it’s not thermal throttling.
• My ping stays around 50ms, so it’s not network lag.
• This looks like a GPU performance or stability issue appearing after some minutes of gameplay.
Intel Graphics Software Limitations I’ve Noticed
Compared to NVIDIA GeForce Experience/Control Panel and AMD Radeon Software, Intel Graphics Software still has major missing or incomplete features:
1. No In-Game Metrics Overlay
• The performance overlay does not appear in games for me.
• The overlay is also very limited (no frametime graph, no VRAM usage, no power graph, etc.).
2. No Instant Replay / Recording Features
• No “Last 10 minutes” Instant Replay feature.
• No Highlights capture.
• No advanced streaming tools (camera overlay, background removal, AI mic, etc.).
3. Limited Tuning Options (Fan Control Exists)
• Arc Control does include fan curve control, but:
– Overclocking is extremely basic
– No undervolting
– No voltage limit/power limit adjustments like NVIDIA/AMD
• My Arc A310 only draws up to ~43W, which seems low under gaming load.
4. VRR / G-Sync / Adaptive Sync Limitations
• VRR/G-Sync only works over DisplayPort, not HDMI.
• No advanced VRR tuning or range configuration.
5. Game Optimization Profiles (But Very Limited)
• Intel Graphics Software does include Game Profiles,
• BUT they offer almost no control — very basic toggles only.
• No forced AA, no sharpening, no dynamic resolution options, no shader cache settings.
6. Missing Display / Resolution Tools
• No custom resolution creator.
• Some scaling and color-depth options are missing or limited.
7. No Built-in Diagnostics
• No shader cache repair button.
• No GPU crash analyzer or error reporting tools.
• Requires external tools like PresentMon, CapFrameX, Intel SSU.
8. Missing Studio / Camera Tools
• Virtual camera features and background removal from old Arc Control are missing now.
• NVIDIA Broadcast and AMD equivalent offer better AI camera/mic features.
9. UI Fragmentation
• Intel still has multiple apps: IGCC, Arc Control, Intel Graphics Software.
• Features are not unified like NVIDIA/AMD.
10. Stability Issues
• Some settings can freeze or crash Intel Graphics Software.
• Low Latency Mode exists but it never works — I tested it in multiple games and saw zero difference, even after restarting the system.
• Tuning features still feel early-stage.
Summary
• The 25–30 minute stutter problem only happens in GTA V and FiveM.
• Temps and network are normal — so this is likely GPU behavior/performance related.
• Intel Graphics Software has many limitations compared to NVIDIA/AMD, and Low Latency Mode doesn’t function at all.
I already submitted the Intel SSU Report.
If you need more information, I can provide it.
Thank you.
Hi @Avi_1971,
Thank you for your response. We will focus on the stuttering issue in GTA V. For other titles, please feel free to create a separate thread.
I appreciate the observations and comparisons you've made with Intel graphics software. We are continuously working to develop features that meet our users' expectations, and we value your feedback as it provides valuable opportunities for improvement.
Below are helpful articles that explain some of the features you observed that are not currently available in our software compared to competitors.
- Performance Overlay Is Not Available on Intel® Graphics Software
- Studio Tab Is Not Available on Intel® Graphics Software
For the main concern regarding GTA V stuttering, I need the CapFrameX data so I can begin my investigation. Please follow the instructions here on how to report performance bugs with Intel GPU.
Thank you for your cooperation.

Hi Randy,
Thanks for the update.
Just to clarify — the stuttering issue happens in GTA V and also in GTA V RP (FiveM). Both titles show the same stutter and input-lag problem.
I normally get around 100 FPS, even when the stutters happen.
The FPS only looks low in some parts of the logs because I alt-tab a lot, which drops the FPS temporarily — but the actual issue is the stuttering and input lag, not low FPS.
I have already attached two files in my previous reply.
The system told me that JSON is not supported, so I compressed the report into a .7z file instead.
If you need anything else (CapFrameX data, logs, or specific settings), please let me know and I’ll do my best to provide it.
Also, I’d like to add a suggestion:
It would be great if Intel could improve optimization and add better tuning/overclocking options specifically for the Intel Arc A310 Windforce OC model. The current tuning support is very limited, and better optimization would help users get more stable performance from this GPU.
Thank you for your assistance.
Best regards,
Avi

Hi @Avi_1971,
Based on my research, Intel Arc A310 can technically run GTA V (Epic Games version), but with limitations. GTA V minimum GPU requirement: NVIDIA GTX 1630 / AMD RX 6400 (4GB VRAM). Intel Arc A310 has 4GB GDDR6, so it meets the minimum VRAM requirement but is considered entry-level.
At 1080p (Medium settings), the Arc A310 averages around 41 FPS (35–47 FPS range), which is playable but not smooth for demanding scenes. At 1440p, performance drops to ~28 FPS, and at 4K, it becomes unplayable (~16 FPS). Yes, it can run GTA V at 1080p low/medium settings, but expect choppy gameplay, stutters, and inconsistent frame pacing. For a smoother experience, consider lowering the resolution and graphics settings, or upgrading to a more powerful GPU (such as the Intel Arc A580 or higher) to meet the system requirements recommended by the game developer.
Let me know if you need more information.

Hi Randy,
I need to clarify this again because it seems my main point was misunderstood.
I already said multiple times that FPS is not my problem. I get around 100 FPS in GTA V and FiveM on my Intel Arc A310 Windforce OC, and the card performs much better than what you described. The low FPS in the logs only happened because I alt-tabbed — not because of actual gameplay performance.
So I don’t really understand why the reply focused on average FPS and minimum GPU requirements. That’s not what I reported.
My issue is stuttering and input lag, even while running at high FPS. That’s the real problem I need help with.
Also, please test the legacy version of GTA V, not the Enhanced Edition, and make sure the testing is done with the Arc A310 Windforce OC, not the base A310. They don’t behave the same.
Please focus on the stutter issue with the latest drivers — that’s what I’ve been trying to get resolved from the start.
Thank you.
Avi
Hi Avi,
Thank you for the clarification, and I apologize for the confusion in my previous response. You're absolutely right - I should have focused on your actual reported issue rather than general performance expectations.
Stuttering and input lag with Intel Arc A310 Windforce OC in GTA V (legacy version) and FiveM, despite achieving good FPS (~100 FPS).
I understand this is a driver-related stuttering issue, not a performance/FPS problem. The stuttering and input lag you're experiencing at high frame rates is indeed a different technical issue that needs proper investigation.
To help resolve the stuttering and input lag specifically, could you please provide a brief gameplay recording showing the stuttering and input lag issue you're experiencing.
Best regards,
Dean R.

Hi Dean,
Thanks for the follow-up.
Here is the gameplay recording you requested:
Google Drive link: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1z0t1sOH19DeJEj-Qnw-AGU84mqZzVdyK?usp=sharing
Please note: in this clip the stutter looks a bit less noticeable because I had not playing for too long, but if you watch carefully—especially while I'm driving—you can clearly see the micro-stutters and momentary “stuck” frames. This only happens on the Intel Arc A310, even though I consistently get around 100 FPS in the Legacy version of GTA V and FiveM.
As I’ve said before, this is not an FPS issue. It’s purely a driver-side stutter + input lag problem at high frame rates. The card is performing fine in terms of raw FPS, but the inconsistent frame delivery and input delay make the game feel laggy even though the FPS counter is high.
Please investigate this as a driver issue specifically affecting GTA V (Legacy) and FiveM on the Arc A310 Windforce OC.
Thank you.
Hi @Avi_1971,
Thank you for providing the recording. I’ll need some time to conduct testing on my end, and once I’ve completed my analysis, I’ll post an update here with the results of the investigation. I appreciate your patience.
Best regards,
Randy T.

Hi @Avi_1971,
After reviewing your case, I need to clarify which platform you'd like us to focus our investigation on, as I've identified that you're working with two different applications:
Please confirm which platform is your primary concern:
Option 1: FiveM Platform If you're experiencing performance issues specifically with FiveM (the multiplayer modification framework for GTA V), please note that we'll need additional information to assist you effectively. Since FiveM involves custom modifications, we would need you to:
- Contact the mod or emulator developer for initial troubleshooting
- Alternatively, share any homebrew code or specific modifications you're using so our team can investigate the compatibility and performance impact (Homebrew code: raw code that could be run without any emulator and focuses its functionality on the issue reproduction.)
Option 2: GTA V (Legacy) If your primary concern is with GTA V (Legacy) performance, we can proceed with our standard diagnostic process.
To move forward, please provide:
- A new CapFrameX performance capture specifically while running GTA V (Legacy)
- Your current in-game settings configuration
The Google Drive link you previously shared has expired and is no longer accessible. Please re-upload any relevant files or logs to a new shareable link.
Once you clarify which platform to focus on and provide the requested information, we'll be able to conduct a thorough analysis and provide targeted recommendations to resolve your stuttering concerns.
Please reply with your preference and the requested information at your earliest convenience.
Best regards,
Randy T.
