http://store.steampowered.com/hwsurvey http://store.steampowered.com/hwsurvey - only 12% are still on 32-bit OS. Also, over 55% have greater than 4 GB of RAM. So no perspective for 32-bit guys i think.

Thats a very interesting viewpoint JFFulcrum. Did Intel not write 64 bit drivers when the split was the other way around? What is the % that Intel needs to support 32 bit. I have customers who cannot move to 64 bit for various reasons. While it might be 12% of the computers (and this is from only who responded I would suggest) how many machines are there in the world, and 12% of that = how many? hundreds of thousands if not millions? Not worth the effort - c'mon.

What i see is that Intel market performance is not good for last 5 years, with near lost battle on tablet market and continuing drain in desktop and laptop PCs numbers sold. So likely Intel now is trying to 'Reduce costs at all cost', including closing of many end-products development and support. BTW, MS did a wrong step with 32-bit Windows 10.

Intel is pushing technology forward. Just as we left 16-bit behind years ago, the time has come for new platforms running the latest OS to embrace 64-bit advantages.

Starting with Windows® 10, our WDDM2.0 graphics drivers for Intel 4th Generation graphics and newer platforms are available in 64bit version only.

This affects Intel graphics products meant for full size desktop and laptop platforms only. Intel graphics products meant for tablets and similar smaller platforms continue to support Windows® 10 32-bit.
