My specs:

CPU: i5-11400f 6 cores

MOTHERBOARD: Asustek Prime B560-plus

GPU: Intel arc b580 12gb

RAM: Kingston SNVS1000G

Windows 11 25H2

Hello! I have an problem with unexpectedly low fps with an avarage of around 50 fps in high settings in games like Ucharted 4 and Red dead redemption 2. I have not yet had an stable experience with any games, often it drops further.

I have used DDU and uninstalled old drivers, i have enabled REBAR and above 4g decoding and i have power settings on high performance. Now i am wondering if its something with the card itself, because it seems none of my other hardware should be impairing.

Thanks for any help!

Hi Kulocool,
Thank you for posting in our Community. Based on what you’ve shared, you’ve already taken several excellent and relevant steps, including performing a clean driver installation using DDU, enabling Resizable BAR and Above 4G Decoding, and setting the system to High Performance power mode. These are all important prerequisites for optimal Intel® Arc™ performance, so thank you for confirming them. At this stage, the behavior you’re describing does not immediately point to a hardware failure, but we’ll need a bit more information to determine whether the performance drops are related to software configuration, game settings, driver behavior, or a platform-specific limitation.

To help me investigate further, could you please provide the following details:

  • Are the games running in DirectX 12 or DirectX 11, and does performance change if you switch APIs?
  • Are you using any upscaling technologies such as XeSS, FSR, or DLSS (via mods), and if so, which mode?
  • What resolution are you playing at (1080p, 1440p, etc.)?
  • Have you monitored CPU and GPU utilization during gameplay, and do you notice any CPU bottlenecking or GPU usage drops when FPS decreases?
  • Is V-Sync or any frame limiter enabled either in-game or through a third-party application?
  • Are there any background applications or overlays running (e.g., Discord, recording software, monitoring tools)?
  • Have you tested performance in other games or benchmarks, and if so, do you observe similar FPS behavior?

Additionally, I'd like to delve deeper and verify specifics like the graphics models, precise driver versions, and any system errors. Utilizing the Intel SSU tool will enable me to collect detailed information about your system setup, which could aid in identifying the underlying cause of this issue.

Have a nice day!

The two games I right now have problems with unstable and pretty "sub-60 fps" is God of war (2018) which is direct 11x and Red dead redemption 2 which is direct 12x. I don't really know how to switch API, and it's not something i have done. The only form of upscaling on God of war is AMD FSR 2.0. On rdr2 none of the upscaling is working to good, i might try to install a Xess mod for it. I am playing in 1080p. I have put a picture of the performance metrics in god of war in a pretty non-graphics-intense place, the gpu fluxuates with every hit i make on an enemy. I have v-sync on in the intel graphics application but not in-game, i also have fps-limiter at 71 on in the app. No background apps but intel-graphics app. I had problems in Uncharted 4 aswell, couldn't get a stable fps.

Thanks for any help!

Hello Kulocool,

I'm currently working through the issue you've submitted.

Please note that we can only address one game per support thread. Could you please specify which game issue you'd like us to focus on in this thread? For any additional games, please create separate threads.

To help me investigate this matter thoroughly, please provide the following information:

1) Display Setup Details:

    • Monitor brand and model
    • Total number of displays
    • Display configuration (port connections, resolution, refresh rate, color depth, format)
    • Cable specifications (direct connections like HDMI-to-HDMI, any adapters/converters/docking stations used, cable version such as HDMI 1.4 or 2.1)

2) SSU log file

3) Performance Issue Description: Please describe the problem in detail (for example: frame rate drops in specific areas, stuttering during certain actions, etc.)

4) Screenshots of your in-game graphics settings (quality preset level, resolution, ray tracing status, etc.)

5) Please submit CapFrameX data files (.json format) that demonstrate the issue. Capture the data at least 3 times to establish a reliable performance baseline.

I look forward to your response.

Best regards,
