Weird issue with Halo 2 PC

I have a issue with the game.I get frame-drops on a few maps. But the idea is if i run the game windowed mode, the game runs perfectly on those maps that i am talking about. (warlock, district).

My laptop has a i3 5005u and intel HD 5500 graphics with all the drivers up-to date.

Acer TravelMate P236-M with 8 GB DDR3 and Windows 10 Anniversary 64bits.

This might be just a driver issue.

Any help is appreciated.

I am still trying to replicate the issue, as soon as I have more information I will keep you posted.

Amy.

News? Its been like 3 weeks. Also, i discovered that if i run Action by Mirillis in the backround (a recording software), the game doesn't lag anymore. Well, i didn't bought a licence, so i won't be able to use it anymore .

I apologize for the delay.

We haven't been able to replicate this issue. Multiplayer maps are working fine from each time we tested the game.

Could you please try installing this driver version https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26078/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10-and-Windows-7-8-1-15-40-?product=80939 Download Intel® Graphics Driver for Windows® 10 and Windows 7*/8.1* [15.40]? This will help to check if this is related to a driver regression issue.

Amy.

Well, i found out that this issue is caused by forcing vsync in the Intel HD Graphics menu.

I enabled vsync because of the screen tearing.

Also, i forgot to mention that im using Windows 10, the older versions of windows doesn't seem to perform as good as Windows 10 on my laptop.

So, if you disable VSynch the tearing disappears?

If I enable the V-sync in the Intel HD graphics menu, the tearing disappears, but these maps that I listed in previous posts will lag (<30fps and frame dips).

If i disable V-sync, those maps will not lag anymore (>60fps).But at the same time i get screen tearing.

This is an expected behavior, we have an article that explains this scenario; "With Vertical Synchronization (VSynch), only whole images are displayed on-screen. The feature matches the timing between the displays' refresh rate and vertical blanking interval. Without VSynch, a high-performance graphics product can display extra content faster than the refresh rate allows, resulting in screen tearing." See here for the full article; http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/graphics-drivers/000005552.html Enabling and Disabling Vertical Synchronization.

Screen tearing appears when the GPU outputs more Frames per second than what the monitor can refresh (refresh rate) so, vSync will synchronize both limiting the FRAPS to the refresh rate set on the monitor. So, as a suggestion; can you check if you can set your refresh rate higher than the one you currently have set?
