Why does Intel D&SA think I have a Radeon?

Razer Blade Pro FHD

i7-7700hq

intel hd 630

nvidia GTX 1060

I had an issue when the switch to the D&SA went up a few weeks ago and couldn't get anything to work. I finally got the download and my graphics update, and now it keeps telling me I have an update avaiable. The first I downloaded it without thinking twice as I trust intel. Then it said it can not find the driver so the install has stopped. Then when looking at the update requirements and everything else it says that I have a RADEON RX VEGA M graphics, listed below that is my NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 1060, What am I missing? Or did Intel mess something up? I have manually installed the newest version with no luck, i have now switched back to the previous version with no luck. I wouldn't have even noticed if my Diablo3 wasn't crashing every few hours and telling NO GRAPHICS CARD CAN BE FOUND ON DEVICE and then theres a caution sign next to the intel hd 630 in my device management, and restarting the computer usually fixes it. HELP!!!!!!

Hello samuraistrong,

I understand that you are having problems with the graphics adapters after the update with Intel ® Driver & Support Assistant.

Regarding this, to better assist you with your request, I will need to check some information about your computer. Please follow these steps:

1. In the keyboard, press WinLogo key + R.

2. In the Run box please type dxdiag and hit Enter.

3. Click on Save All Information (save it in your desktop).

4. Attach the report to this thread.

Also, if possible, please provide me with screenshots of the device manager showing the caution sign and the graphics adapters. How long ago was the Intel ® Driver & Support Assistant installed?

Regards,

David V

Hello samuraistrong,

Thank you for your response and the information.

It seems like there is a problem with the integrated graphics. Regarding the Intel ® Driver & Support Assistant I would recommend you to uninstall it and then re-install it from our support site again, you can do so by downloading it from the link below:

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/detect.html https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/detect.html

Make sure to first completely remove it from your system before attempting the re-installation.

Also, regarding the problem you are having with the integrated graphics, I want you to download the ".zip" file:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/27847/Graphics-Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10?product=98909 https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/27847/Graphics-Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10?product=98909

Once the file is downloaded, please follow the steps below in order to manually install the driver:

1 - Unzip the file to a designated location or folder.

2 - Right-click Windows Start icon and open Device Manager.

3 - Click Yes when prompted for permission from User Account Control.

4 - Expand the Display adapters section.

5 - Right-click the Intel® graphics entry and select Update Driver Software.

6 - Click "Browse my computer for driver software".

7 - Click "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer".

8 - Click "Have Disk".

9 - Click "Browse".

10 - Access the designated location or folder, and access a folder called "Graphics".

11 - Select the .INF file (Setup information).

12 - Click Open, then click OK, and finally click Next. Drivers are now being installed.

13 - Reboot your computer

Once this has been done, please let me know the outcome with how it shows under device manager.

I hope this helps.

Regards,

Hello samuraistrong,

Thank you for your response.

Were you able to re-install the Intel ® Driver & Support Assistant?

Remember that this step is important so we can check if the software still thinks your system has radeon* graphics.

Let me know please.

The Intel driver & support assistant suggests I should install the radon driver, though I have an HD graphics 630. I was able to manually update my driver but I though I should give some extra feedback if it can help others. My intel d&s assistant is updated and so is my windows version.
