igfxEM Module has stopped working, is there a fix?

This just started a few weeks ago. I've downloaded the automatic updater and it says all drivers are good. This happens often, but mostly when I'm running virtualbox. It will sometimes cause me to not be able to run virtualbox. Sometimes it shows up on startup. I have a Lenovo Thinkpad with HD Graphics 520 driver version 25.20.100.6576. The driver is dated 2/7/2019.

I've seen this show up several places on the internet but they all seem to be older posts including one on your forum. I don't see any newer drivers than what I have and trying to update via Windows "Update Driver..." button says I have the latest.

Any clues as to how to fix this?

Thank you for posting on the Intel ® communities.

 

To better assist you with your request, I will need to check some information about your computer. Please follow these steps: 

 

1. In the keyboard, press WinLogo key + R. 

2. In the Run box please type dxdiag and hit Enter.

3. Click on Save All Information (save it in your desktop). 

4. Attach the report to this thread. 

 

Also, please try the following: 

 

1 - Go into device manager and look for display adapters 

2 - Right-click on Intel ® HD Graphics and select uninstall until you have only Microsoft Basic Display Adapter.

3 - Right-click again and select "update driver". 

4 - Let the update run and when finished restart the system. 

 

When the system is back up, please check to see if the issue persists.
