i recently bought an ASUS K43SA notebook with Intel i5 2430 with HD 3000 graphics. it also comes with AMD Radeon HD 6730M discrete gpu. when i view the device manager and click on display adapter, it only shows the AMD gpu and not the intel HD 3000. i thought it supports switchable graphics. is it really supposed to show only the AMD graphics? thanks

Hello,

The fact that this graphics controllers are switchable implies that one controller will be active while the other would not. The system should electrically disable the other controller in order to save power therefore the device would not be shown on your the Device Manager on your system.

Keep in mind that this is a hardware implementation done by the computer manufacturer, therefore if you have further questions on this technology, you should directly them to your Original Equipment Manufacturer.
