I met the black screen issue when install ubuntu 16.04.1, my desktop is with intel i5-12400 process, intel uhd graphic 730.
I searched online that can modify parameters by type "e" at install ubuntu, but don't know what should be used for intel uhd 730.
Anyone knows how to solve this issue?

Hello zujl,
Thank you for posting on the Intel® communities. I am sorry to know that you are having issues with your Intel® Core™ i5-12400 Processor.
In order to better assist you, please provide the following:
1. Did you test with Windows to confirm if you have any issues?
2. Did you check with the Linux distributor to confirm the installation steps?
3. Did you check with the motherboard manufacturer to confirm if supports Linux?
4. Did you run all the Ubuntu updates?

Thanks.
1. Did you test with Windows to confirm if you have any issues?
The default OS windows is good. I can login system.
2. Did you check with the Linux distributor to confirm the installation steps?
Steps are right. I stuck at press "install Ubuntu", screen turns black and I can't process installation steps.
3. Did you check with the motherboard manufacturer to confirm if supports Linux?
I checked with Ubuntu support online, reply is old version may not have the driver for new graphics. That is what I want to solve, I searched online that some suggestions are to change setparams of install ubuntu, but it depends on the graphics model. for example, for Nvidia it uses nomodeset, for Intel 82852/82855 it uses i915.modeset=1 or i915.modeset=0.
4. Did you run all the Ubuntu updates?
Not yet.

Hello zujl,
Thanks for the confirmation. In this case, the Linux distributor is the only one that can provide you with older drivers and instructions needed for the system to work.
We can only provide you with a generic driver compatible with the latest Ubuntu version:
Driver: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/747008/intel-arc-graphics-driver-ubuntu.html
My last recommendation would be to install the latest Ubuntu version, check with the motherboard manufacturer to confirm if it is compatible with older Ubuntu versions, and check with the Linux distributor for further support and steps.
Please keep in mind that this thread will no longer be monitored by Intel.
