problems with updated driver

after downloading the latest video driver for my laptop (15.17.7.2141) my screen resolution and desktop appearance is unacceptable and did not correct the issue I was having that suggested I "install the latest video driver". How can I resolve these issues or go back to the previous version? Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. My computer knowledge is quite basic.
