Hello PrabanjanJadav,
Thank you for posting in Intel Communities.
To properly isolate and diagnose this issue, I'll need to gather some additional information from you:
1) What specific problems are you experiencing with the current driver version 31.0.101.5186?
2) Are you seeing any error messages, performance issues, or compatibility problems?
3) What exact driver version are you trying to install? (Please provide the complete version number)
5) How are you attempting to install the driver?
- Manually downloading from Intel's website?
- Using Intel Graphics Software (IGS)?
- Using Intel Driver & Support Assistant (DSA)?
- Through Windows Update?
- Other driver updater tools?
6) Are you uninstalling the old driver before installing the new one?
7) Are you using Device Manager, Control Panel, or a third-party uninstaller?
😎 At what point does the installation revert back to version 5186?
To get a complete picture of your system configuration, could you please generate and share an SSU (System Support Utility) log file? This will help us analyze your exact hardware setup and identify any potential conflicts.
To generate SSU log:
Download Intel® System Support Utility for Windows* software. When the download is complete, launch SSU.exe.
- Make sure you check everything except for "Networking".
- Click Scan.
- Review: When finished scanning, click Next.
- Click Save (save the log file as .txt).
- Attach the log file as you reply to this post.
This information will allow us to provide you with the most accurate troubleshooting steps for your specific system configuration.
Looking forward to your response so we can resolve this issue effectively.
Best regards,
JeanetteC.

The problem I am experiencing with driver version 31.0.101.5186 is that Windows Update keeps reinstalling it automatically, even after installing a newer driver and some games require the newest driver version to play. (like GTA 5)
I am not seeing any specific error messages. The installation of the newer driver completes successfully, but after restarting the system, the driver reverts back to version 31.0.101.5186 automatically.
I attempted to install the latest available driver version recommended by Intel Driver & Support Assistant. (Please see the SSU log attached for the exact version.)
I installed the driver using Intel Driver & Support Assistant (DSA).
To prevent Windows from automatically reinstalling the older driver, I paused Windows Update for 5 weeks. During this period, the SSU log correctly shows the newer driver version.
I did not manually uninstall the driver beforehand. The installation was done directly through Intel Driver & Support Assistant.
The issue occurs after restarting the system. Once the system restarts or Windows Update runs again, the system automatically reinstalls driver version 31.0.101.5186, reverting from the newer driver.
At the moment, the newer driver only remains active because Windows Update is paused. Once updates resume, the system installs the older driver again.

Helllo PrabanjanJadav,
Thank you for sharing these important details.
Before we proceed, please note that this is an OEM device, we will try to assist you with general troubleshooting steps even if it’s something not traditionally covered in our support. However, if the issue still persists, you will have to contact the Original Equipment Manufacturer of your device. Your device manufacturer may have altered features, incorporated customizations, or made other changes to some components for better compatibility with your system.
For 11th Generation through 14th Generation Intel® Processor Graphics:
- As of September 19, 2025, Intel moved 11th - 14th Gen Intel Processor Graphics and related Intel Atom®, Pentium®, and Celeron® processor graphics to a legacy software support model. Intel will provide software support for affected products on critical fixes and security vulnerabilities only. Software updates for these products will move to a quarterly release cadence with additional critical releases as needed.
- Only critical fixes and security vulnerabilities will be addressed in quarterly driver releases going forward.
Would you like to continue with the support? Please note that even if the issue is fixed by our developers, the fix will only come to Intel Ultra Core Series 1 or newer drivers and will not be included on the driver of your graphics card.
Looking forward to your reply.
Best regards,
JeanetteC.
