spatial dithering algorithm - in the public domain?

Hello,

A question about dithering. I have a Dell Latitude D610 laptop with the Intel Mobile 915GM graphics chipset which supports "supports spatial dithering to emulate up to 16 million colors for 18 bpp TFT panels." The laptop display is indeed a 18 bpp TFT display. How is the dithering exactly done? Is the algorithm in the public domain?

Thanks,

Brad

Hi,

Sorry I can't answer the first question,

but i am 99% sure that the answer to the second one is no. intel don't disclose stuff like that. Maybe you would be able to find it somewhere in some document that has been leaked or something.

Sorry not to be abel to be more helpful
