Hello to everyone, i am crying and full rage with my new intel a770, please help me.
Until yesterday, I was using a rtx 2060 with intel i7-7900k for streaming in a dual pc setup, on the streaming pc I had nvenc encoder, everything was perfect, good quality, low load, the pc wasn't even under stress, I could browse on it while I was streaming, in parallel I could use tiktok live studio for another stream in parallel, all good and beautiful.
I don't know how and why, but I saw on YouTube the new video card from intel (arc gpu 770), that it has an av1 encoder and that it is very good, so I bought it, brand new.
I used DDU uninstaller, I connected the new card from intel, install the latest drivers, also intel arc control, all good and beautiful, I made the settings on obs (I streaming on youtube), I set the quicksync av1 encoder with all the other settings ( i streamed for almost 5 years with no problem before with same pc but with rtx 2060 instead of the new intel ), and this happend :
- The quality is 2 times worse than on rtx 2060 while livestreaming
- The PC moves terribly, like is cpu usage 999% usage and gpu usage 999%
- Gameplay ( from my gaming pc, or ps5 console ) is not smooth like on rtx 2060, its like stuttering i dont know how to explain it..
- Only if I dare to start tiktok studio, the application only, the PC starts to lag, it moves in slow motion.
Bios is up to date with resizable bar on, also in the intel arc control on system info it says that it is ON.
Reminder, everything worked perfect for 5 years with same pc, same components but with rtx 2060 nvenc encoder instead of this, so i am 100% the computer is not the problem.
What am I doing wrong?? I am in full depression
Pc streaming setup/settings:
Monitor: 1080p - 144hz
Capture card: elgato 4k mk2 pro
CPU: Intel i7-7900k
gpu: Intel Arc A770 (replacement for rtx 2060 with which everything was going great, but since i paid 400$ for this gpu i am expecting to be at least the same as rtx 2060 not 2 times worse, something is worse).
Bios is up to date with resizable bar on, also in the intel arc control on system info it says that it is ON.
I try livestreaming in obs with:
quicksync av1, high bitrate, low bitrate, preset low, fast.
quicksync h.264
quicksync hvec
All are worse than my quality with rtx 2060 with nvenc encoder and it's not supposed to, right?
Please help me..
and to make the package complete, now, with the new video card, out of the blue and randomly, the streaming suddenly closes, as if I had given it "stop streaming" and I write to my guys in the chat that it is the live off and I click on start streaming again. ( please help me with this too.. why my obs livestreamin randomly stops )
Latest update:
I did a clean install windows, installed everything again but the problem still persist ( stuttering while streaming, even in preview mode ( obs or elgato 4k capture utility ), micro stuttering.
On their website ( the elgato website ) it say something like compatibiliy issues between elgato 4k mk2 pro and intel's gpu above 1080p, but even in 1080p i have micro stutterings...
I understand that i run the gpu on a mobo that is only 3.0 PCI, but even this way should be MUCH better than my prev. rtx 2060 which i had no problem at all, what is the issue for the micro stutterings ?

Hi, valueHD.
Thank you for posting in our Community.
I'm truly sorry to hear about the challenges you're facing with your new Intel Arc A770 GPU. It sounds incredibly frustrating, especially considering the expectations you had based on your previous RTX 2060 setup. Firstly, it's commendable that you've already taken steps like using DDU uninstaller and updating all drivers. However, it seems like the performance isn't meeting your expectations.
- The Intel Arc A770 is equipped with an AV1 encoder, which should provide excellent streaming quality. If you're experiencing lower quality compared to your previous RTX 2060 setup, it could be due to driver or compatibility issues. Have you tried installing or performed a clean installation of the latest graphics driver version, which is 31.0.101.5444 using DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller)? Please be guided that we have our updated graphics driver version released on April 19, 2024.
- While it's true that running the GPU on a PCIe 3.0 motherboard might not fully utilize its potential, it should still perform better than your previous RTX 2060 setup. However, the micro-stuttering issue suggests there could be a bottleneck or compatibility issue at play. Have you checked for any BIOS updates for your motherboard that might address PCIe compatibility or system stability? This could be related to the PCIe 3.0 interface of your motherboard.
- Since you've tried various encoder settings in OBS, and none have provided satisfactory results, let's delve deeper. Have you tested out with different combinations of bitrate and preset settings for each encoder type? Sometimes, tweaking these parameters can make a significant difference in streaming quality and performance.
Additionally, I'd like to delve deeper and verify specifics like the graphics models, precise driver versions, and any system errors. Utilizing the Intel SSU tool will enable us to collect detailed information about your system setup, which could aid in identifying the underlying cause of this issue.
Looking forward to your response. Have a nice day!
Best regards,
Von M.

Hi, valueHD.
Sorry for the long wait as we are currently experiencing a high volume of technical concerns. Please be assured that we are doing our best to attend to your inquiry as soon as possible.
Using DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) can sometimes cause issues if not used correctly. It's important to follow the recommended steps such as using Safe Mode and ensuring all non-essential USB devices are unplugged before running DDU. After using DDU, reinstalling the chipset and GPU drivers in the correct order is crucial. If your CPU performance has changed, it could be due to various factors such as background processes, power plan settings, or even thermal issues. Make sure that your CPU is not thermal throttling and that the power settings are optimized for performance. Micro Stuttering can caused by mismatched frame rates between the GPU and monitor, especially if VSync is enabled. It can also occur if there's a slight hiccup in the engine or background tasks affecting the frame timing.
The Intel Arc A770 should indeed perform comparably or better than the RTX 2060, even on PCIe 3.0. However, real-world performance can vary based on drivers, game optimization, and system configuration. OBS uses the GPU for encoding when using hardware acceleration. If you're experiencing high GPU usage, it could be due to the encoder settings or the streaming resolution and bitrate. Try adjusting these settings or using a different encoder preset. If the GPU usage seems higher than expected, it could be due to software conflicts, incorrect settings, or even hardware issues. Monitoring tools can help you pinpoint the cause of high GPU usage.

Hello, @valueHD . I just wanted to let you know I too stream with my A770 and it IS much better than my previous GTX 1070 and Radeon 6700 XT in almost every respect. However, with OBS I too get the microstutter with using the Game Capture method. I had to switch to Screen Capture and it runs SMOOooth.
I also have an older rig with PCIe 3 and resizable BAR. Mine is an I9-9900K with 32GB RAM and once I set the capture method in OBS to screen, it cured my Ills with the stuttering. I stream mainly Cod Modern Warfare III (2023) and it's a fast paced game and I couldn't be happier with what the Arc is doing, except the stuttering with Game Capture.
Give screen capture a try!

Hello @SHYBORG, but how can i use screen capture ?
First of all, screen capture is not the best quality option when using capture cards, you must use capture card in obs.
But lets say i want to use screen capture, how ? I want to capture the game from my PS5, screen capture for me is not a solution because i dont want to capture what's on my PC(screen).

Ah, well... First, my apologies as I missed the part you were dual streaming from your PS5. I was also mistaken when I tried to describe what I do. I meant to say Display Capture (not screen). That's just another capture method in OBS, I'm sure you're aware. I'm a single PC streamer and I have no experience doing what you do, but my first instinct would be to double-check to be sure your software/drivers for your capture device are updated as well. I might also report the issue to their support team if you haven't already.
Try a different slot/port for your capture device?
If none of that is helpful, I'm sorry and good luck in sorting out the troubles!
