Setup
Motherboard: MSI B550 Gaming Carbon Wifi
CPU: AMD 5900x
Mem: 64Gb @3600
GPU: ARC A770 16Gb
Issue
Having virtualisation SVM enabled on the motherboard disables the ability for the Intel Arc A770 to enable Resizable BAR. I have tested this over a few hours with BIOS resets and SVM is the cause of the disabled Resizable BAR.
So I can have virtualisation or resizable bar on the PC, this far from ideal.
Motherboard and A770 are fully patched up to date.
Use Case for SVM
I'm a developer, docker is darn handy and also might want to run a VM.
Is there any reason for this behaviour ?

Hello knarf
Thank you for posting on the Intel® ARC™ Graphics Communities. I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues when enabling virtualization on your Intel® Arc™ A770 Graphics.
Currently, virtualization technologies are not supported by the Intel® Arc™ A-Series family, please check the following article for more information:
Graphics Virtualization Technologies Support for Each Intel® Graphics Family

Hi Hugo,
Is this a hardware limitation or a driver limitation? I also just purchased an A750 card and had to disable virtualization in order to get my monitors to turn on. Also, is this purely a limitation when used with AMD CPUs?
If it is a driver limitation, are there plans to address it?

Hello knarf
Before we close this community thread, we want to let you know that we are looking into this issue with Resizable BAR being off when SVM is Enabled. However, there is no estimated time for resolution and we cannot commit to a certain outcome. In case you want to check with us later on you can reference the Bug ID 14018340272.
Please note that this case will no longer be monitored, if you have further questions, open a new topic.

I was unsure if you understand what this bug is how it affects.
1. I am not trying to use virtualization against the card in different virtual environments.
2. I run docker mostly for development builds and use CAD and Gaming.
I will try and live with it, but a different graphics card maybe a better long-term solution.

I'm seeing the same behavior.
GPU-Z (v2.52.0) does correctly detect when Resizable BAR is enabled, regardless of SVM being enabled or disabled in the BIOS/EFI. Only the Intel Arc Control / Settings / System Info / Hardware tab seems to require SVM to be disabled to detect this correctly. When GPU-Z says Resizable BAR is enabled, I seem to be getting full performance, regardless if the Intel control panels shows as "X Not Supported," at least the best I can tell with the benchmarks and games that I run. It seems to be only an annoyance.
Note that I have to have SVM enabled in order to run WSL 2 (Hyper-V), and I believe there is a similar requirement for Docker and other virtualization applications. I am not doing any GPU virtualization (VM passthrough), so that article should not apply to this situation.
It seems to me that the Arc driver team just needs to use the same method as GPU-Z to detect if Resizable BAR is enabled or not.
