Hello Intel Support & Community,

English is not my first language, so I used Google Gemini to help write this bug report. Please excuse any awkward phrasing.

I am reporting a stability issue with my Intel Arc B580 GPU specifically when playing Planetary Annihilation: TITANS (Steam version) in the Galactic War mode with client-side mods enabled.

System Specifications: GPU: Intel(R) Arc(TM) B580 Graphics Driver Version: 32.0.101.6732 (WHQL, Dated 2025-04-01) OS: Windows 11 Home 64-bit (10.0, Build 26100) CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D Motherboard: Gigabyte B650M K (BIOS FB2, Latest AMD Chipset Drivers installed) RAM: 32GB Resizable BAR: Enabled

Problem Description: When playing the Galactic War campaign mode in Planetary Annihilation: TITANS (with mods listed below), the first battle completes successfully. However, attempting to load and start the second battle on the Galactic War map consistently results in severe screen flickering, followed by the game hanging or crashing.

Crucially, this issue did not exist when my system used an Nvidia RTX 2070. The problem started immediately after installing the Intel Arc B580.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Launch PA: TITANS via Steam with the specified mods enabled.
  2. Start or load a Galactic War campaign.
  3. Win the first battle.
  4. Return to the Galactic War map.
  5. Select and launch a second battle.
  6. Observe flickering, hang, or crash during/after loading.

Active Client Mods (When Crashing): PA chat Galactic war overhaul Bigger Galactic war hotbuild2 Infinite build Floating Framework

Troubleshooting Attempted:

  • Clean driver installations (using DDU) of current driver 32.0.101.6732 and previous versions.
  • Game file verification via Steam.
  • Disabled all relevant overlays (Steam, Discord, Xbox Game Bar, etc.).
  • Set Windows Display Scaling to 100%.
  • Tested various resolutions (including native 2560x1440) and display modes (Fullscreen, Windowed, Borderless Windowed) within the game.
  • Confirmed Resizable BAR status (Enabled).
  • Tested disabling newly installed mods (Infinite build, hotbuild2, Floating Framework). The issue persisted even when only running mods that were previously stable with an RTX 2070 (PA chat, Galactic war overhaul, Bigger Galactic war).

Additional Information:

  • Full DxDiag output is available (and attached if possible on the forum).
  • Windows Error Reporting contains multiple LiveKernelEvent reports (Codes 141 and 193 - WATCHDOG related) and AppHangTransient for PA.exe during these events, pointing towards a driver-level issue.
  • The problem seems directly linked to transitioning to a second game instance within the Galactic War mode specifically on the Arc B580 hardware, even with a mod configuration that was stable on previous Nvidia hardware.

Could the Intel driver team investigate potential compatibility issues between the Arc B580 drivers and this specific game scenario (Planetary Annihilation: TITANS, Galactic War mode, potentially under modded conditions)?

Thank you.

Hi PlanetaryAnnihilation,

Thank you for posting in the communities!

I appreciate you gathering all the information and performing troubleshooting to investigate on this issue.

No worries, I'll further check and investigate on this internally and provide you an update on this thread as soon as possible.

While waiting, can you provide us the game settings that you're using in Planetary Annihilation: TITANS, because I will try to re-create the issue here on my end.

Also, kindly provide us the dump files while playing Planetary Annihilation: TITANS, this will help us find the root cause of the issue.

Best regards,
