Hello,

Is anyone aware when the B50 linux support will be available? Following existing guides leads to nothing but issues. i.e.:

root@red:~# uname -a
Linux red 6.14.0-33-generic #33-Ubuntu SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Wed Sep 17 23:22:02 UTC 2025 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
root@red:~# sycl-ls
Bus error (core dumped)
root@red:~# cat /etc/lsb-release
DISTRIB_ID=Ubuntu
DISTRIB_RELEASE=25.04
DISTRIB_CODENAME=plucky
DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu 25.04"

The GPU isn't detected in any of the llm tools either.

Hello ypk,

Thank you for reaching out regarding the B50 Linux support issues you're experiencing on Ubuntu 25.04.

To better assist you with this matter, could you please provide some additional information about your intended use case:

What is the primary purpose for your B50 setup?

Are you planning to use it for gaming?

Machine learning/AI development?

General computing tasks?

Professional workloads?

Best regards,

Hi Dean,

I'm primarily looking at running LLMs. VLLM with XPU doesn't seem to do the trick. I tried all the flavors of installing it, even changed the OS between LTS Ubuntu, latest Ubuntu and Debian Trixie.

Hello ypk,

Thank you for clarifying that you're primarily looking to run LLMs with VLLM using XPU support. I understand you've tried multiple installation approaches and even tested different operating systems (LTS Ubuntu, latest Ubuntu, and Debian Trixie) without success.

To better assist you with the B50 Linux support for LLM workloads, I need some additional information:

  • System Configuration:
  • Could you provide an Intel SSU report or system specifications including:
  • Complete system hardware details
  • Current Intel graphics driver version (if any installed)
  • BIOS version and settings

This information will help me better understand your setup and provide more targeted guidance for LLM workloads on the B50.

Best regards,

Dean R.

Hi ypk,

Thank you for providing the detailed system information. I can see you have the Intel Arc Pro B50 (Battlemage G21) installed in your AMD Ryzen 9 3900X system running Ubuntu 25.04, and you're experiencing issues with LLM workloads using VLLM with XPU support.

I understand you've tried multiple installation approaches across different Linux distributions (LTS Ubuntu, latest Ubuntu, and Debian Trixie) without success, and the Intel SSU tool is not supported on your current OS configuration.

I will be checking this further internally regarding B50 Linux support for LLM workloads and will get back to you once I have more information available.

Thank you for your patience as we investigate this Linux compatibility issue.

Best regards,
