Can a forced firmware update affect performance?

Hi, I bought SPARKLE Intel® Arc™ A770 TITAN OC Edition, 16GB last month and while searching to clear some questions, I found this link.
https://www.asrock.com/support/faq.asp?id=528

I downloaded and updated the firmware (maybe it was a downupdate) and it installed fine.
However, this firmware is from ASRock, not Sparkle. Is it okay to install it?

The date of this post is 4/11/2023. I don't know if it's April 11 or November 4. But it's much earlier than the July 2024 I purchased.

Afterwards, I found out that the latest driver contains the latest firmware update. After download the driver and extract it, there is no TITAN A770 firmware. ( TITAN A750 is included)

Can you provide firmware for Sparkle TITAN A770?

It's already happened. I want to turn it back.

Hello GTX,

I understand the situation. Since there is no firmware update available for your card at the moment, please wait for the next update. Once it is available, kindly download and install the updates from your system manufacturer.

I will now proceed to close this inquiry. If you have other questions or concerns, please create a new ticket as this case will no longer be monitored.

Thank you for your understanding and patience.

You should really only use F/W updates that come from your product vendor. Updates elsewhere may (worst case) brick your board.

Just sayin',

I need Intel and Sparkle's help to put the spilled water back in the water.

I don't know English, but I translated the Korean idiom, 'A blessing in disguise'.

Could it be that my mistake might turn into good luck?

Hi GTX,

I'd like to follow up on the recent updates you mentioned. Could you please let me know where you found these updates or their source? Additionally, after updating the firmware from ASRock, did you notice any changes or issues with its performance?

It's important to follow the recommended updates from the manufacturer to avoid potential compatibility problems. Your feedback on this matter will help us ensure everything is functioning correctly.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Hi, I am currently looking into the cause of the audio stutter and I see an old Windows 11 installed as the most likely suspect.

However, I can't test it because I don't have a spare drive. It will probably be possible after the official release of 24H2.

So I am not reinstalling Windows and am checking if there are other causes first.
https://community.intel.com/t5/Intel-ARC-Graphics/A770-Audio-stutter-problem/m-p/1625712#M16098

The firmware can be downloaded from the below link

https://download.asrock.com/TSD/Desktop/FAQ/IGFXUpdate(v1.0.1).zip

The 1.2GB firmware was installed successfully in debug mode. There was no significant change after the update.

However, I feel uneasy. Maybe the performance has deteriorated? And I am still experiencing a stutter issue whose cause has not been identified.

According to GPU-Z, the firmware version is still the same, 20.0.1064. I don't know if the detailed version has changed.

If the firmware version has been downgraded, please provide the firmware for sparkle arc a770 titan 16gb

Thank you.

Hi, I'm sorry, but there is no firmware for Sparkle A770 TITAN in the driver yet.

The same goes for the 101.5989 driver.

Here is the email I received from Evan Huang of Sparkle: august

[I have confirmed with our RD team that it is normal for the A770 not to be found in the folder. This indicates that you can update the IFWI on the graphics card through a driver update. Currently, there is no requirement for an IFWI update for the Sparkle A770.]

I have re-installed the driver several times and never saw a pop-up saying that there is a new firmware.

Same goes for HDMI, DP.

If there is no firmware update available now, I will wait for the next update. Thank you.
