Decoding Serial Number and Product ID from QR code

Hi there,

I have an Intel Arc A750 LE GPU and I need to decode the Serial Number and Product ID from the QR code to check on warranty coverage.

I've scanned the code and it gives me a string like ADNFxxxxSKUyyyyyyyyyy (4 times x, 10 times y). First of all, does that look like a correct Serial Number? I assume this is the full Serial Number.

The support article is incredibly unhelpful in how to find the Product ID from that:

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000090979/graphics.html

Any ideas on how to proceed?

Regards,

Kasper

It turns out that the instructions are just very, very poor. The Product ID is not part of the QR code and instead it is printed on the GPU card next to the HDMI port. The scanned QR code (ADNFxxxxSKUyyyyyyyyyy) is the Serial Number.

based on the string you've described e.g., "ADNFxxxxSKUyyyyyyyyyy". the scanned QR code is giving you a formatted product identifier, which could include both the Serial Number and Product ID.

Serial number is usually a unique identifier for your specific unit. In this case, the string you provided likely starts with "ADNF" and contains a portion after "SKU" that could represent the actual Serial Number (the "xxxx" part). It’s a good bet that the first part (e.g., "ADNFxxxx") refers to the unique serial number of the GPU. Product ID is typically a code that corresponds to the model or variant of your product. In your case, the "SKUyyyyyyyyyy" part likely indicates the Product ID. The "SKU" (Stock Keeping Unit) generally represents a specific model of the product, which would be the Product ID.

Try using the Serial Number from the string to check warranty coverage on Intel’s support site. It’s often sufficient for warranty checks. If the site requires a Product ID and you cannot easily separate it from the string, the part after “SKU” (in this case, "yyyyyyyyyy") could be what you need to input as the Product ID. Try entering both the Serial Number and Product ID (if the support page allows both fields) on Intel’s warranty check page. If you don’t have clear instructions, the support team may be able to directly verify which part of the code corresponds to each.

The provided support article is indeed unclear about locating the Product ID. Here's the solution:

The Product ID is usually printed directly on the graphics card itself, often near the HDMI port or on a sticker. It might be a shorter code compared to the serial number. Apologize for any confusion caused by the unclear instructions

the Product ID is not embedded in the QR code. Instead, you'll find it physically printed on the GPU card near the HDMI port. The QR code itself contains the Serial Number (format: ADNFxxxxSKUyyyyyyyyyy). I hope this makes the process easier for you.
