Ghost Recon : Wildlands stuck on loading screen ; Core Ultra 7 Processor 155H

I'm unable to load wildlands, once I launch the game the initial splash screen stays for about 10 minutes, during this this time game uses about 2.5GB of memory and gets there very slowly, and cpu utilization stays well below 15%, afterwards the game loading screen comes up with a spinner and stays there forever, while on the loading screen the memory usage is still around 2.5GB while cpu utilization is around 10% and GPU usage stays around 90%. I kept the loading screen for more than 2 hours and there was no increase of RAM of GPU memory usage but the CPU and GPU usage stays the same.

However Ghost Recon Breakpoint loads and runs, (very laggy on low settings but at least the game loads)

graphics driver : 32.0.101.6299

Hi Devmith,

Thank you for posting in the communities!

To better assist you and determine the most appropriate resolution, could you please provide the needed details listed below.

  • May I know if the game is working fine before?
  • Is your laptop have a dedicated graphics card? if yes, have you tried disabling the integrated graphics in the BIOS then run the game on the dedicated graphics card?
  • What is the make and model of your laptop?
  • Have you already tried performing DDU before you install the latest GPU drivers?
  • Does the issue also happen on other games?

Hi, Thanks for your response,

1.  This is the first time I am playing this game on this Laptop, I've only played this on a laptop that had a gtx 1050 2gb, (in comparing benchmarks of the Integrated Intel Arc Graphics in the 155H seems to be better than the gtx - https://nanoreview.net/en/gpu-compare/intel-arc-igpu-8-cores-vs-geforce-gtx-1050-mobile)

2.  The current laptop does not have a dedicated GPU, just the 155H Integrated Intel Arc Graphics

3. The current Laptop is a Lenovo X1 carbon gen 12

4. Yes, I performed DDU before installing graphics driver : 32.0.101.6299

5. does not happen to other games, some games (Ghost recon breakpoint, the crew 2 ) are supper laggy on low settings but at least they load.

furthermore below is a screenshot of where it stays on the loading screen. the depicted system resources remain the same even when left for 60+ minutes.

Hi Devmith,

Thank you for sharing this information with us.

No worries, I will further check on this, I will try to replicate the issue, for me to replicate the issue, can you provide the following information:

  • May I know where you downloaded Ghost Recon Wildlands? is it on steam, Ubisoft, etc.
  • If your previous laptop is still with you, if it's not much of a hassle, can you provide us with the game settings that you used while playing Ghost Recon Wildlands.

To further troubleshoot the issue:

  • Have you tried to uninstall and reinstall the game?
  • Have you already tried downloading the GPU drivers on your OEM website?
  • Have you tried different driver versions on our Intel website to try and isolate the issue?

Hi Earl ,

1. I downloaded the game from ubisoft

2. In my previous laptop I used medium settings, and on the current I used all low settings and turning of any effect I could as well.

3. I have tried reinstalling the game multiple times as well.

4. I used the OEM drivers and and around 12 different drivers from the intel website as well.

The game still behaves the same, I have finally decided upgrade to an eGPU as this is a bit of a hassle.

I very much appreciate the support I've received on this matter, but since I am already upgrading to a RTX I should be able to run it smoothly.

Thank you for checking on this matter Earl.

Best Regards,

Devmith

Hi Devmith,

Thank you for sharing this update, I'm happy to know that you were able to resolve the issue on your end.

I've checked the system requirements of the game, and it seems like it needs a dedicated graphics card for better performance.

But since the issue is now resolved, my I know if there's anything I can help you with.
