I am experiencing lag and low FPS in Valorant ranging from 300-500fps in the shooting range to suddenly 140-160 fps in a gamemode with other players. Which is even worse than what I got with my old radeon r9 380 , which usually chilled at 190-220 fps.
I also experienced some glitches in the form of some objects being incorrectly colored varying from being red or blue.
Did a fresh Windows 11 install, got my latest bios driver update, updated the graphic card to latest driver, enabled resizable bar, axmp for ram, and hyperthreading in bios, set my pc to performance mode, changed the priority to high for valorant, tried all the different valorant graphic settings.
My specs are:
GPU
ASRock Intel Arc A750 Challenger D OC
CPU
AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-Core Processor
Valorant Settings:
Multithread on
Would love some help because Valorant is one of my main games and if I can't get the 280 fps for my 280hz monitor I would be forced to send the graphic card back.

I love the product and can see the potential.
That said... there needs to be much, much more resources assigned to fixing issues.
I had to resort to buying a used RX580 to get my titles to again run...despite months of reporting.
Not a single attempt to even casually look at a game failure log.

Recently switched from gtx 1660 to A770
So far it feels like a downgrade...... the 1660 (6 gb) was able to keep at least 200 fps at the heaviest combat moments.
A770 goes down to 160-150 fps in the practice range. I am trying to play Val competitively with a 240hz monitor.
The only positive thing I've noticed is that I am more responsive and I can click heads faster (whenever the game doesn't lag and stutter that is) .
Specs:
GPU
Asrock Intel Arc A770 16 gb
MB
TUF gaming X570-plus (wifi)
CPU
AMD ryzen 9 9500x
RAM
2x16gb 3600 mhz (ddr4)

People have been reporting issues with Valorant for ages now, but Intel doesn't seem to give a crap. It feels like they have been investing much less in drivers lately in general. I really hope its because they have something big in store.

I am sorry; I am new to this troubleshooting thing. I guess with 'step-by-step instructions,' you mean when and where the FPS drops take place?
There are extreme differences in FPS depending on where I look. For example, I can be in the practice range near the portal. If I look anywhere but the portal, my FPS is in the 350+ range, but as soon as I look at the portal, it drops to around 160 FPS. When I am in a high FPS location (400+) and consistently spam Raze's E ability, the FPS drops by about 200. If I do the same in a relatively low FPS location where the FPS is around 190, spamming Raze's E ability basically doesn't put a dent in the FPS. While the actions of other players affected the performance quite a bit too, I had a slight feeling that it mattered more where the action was taking place instead of that it was taking place in the first place. In some areas, I just had to slightly move my crosshair by a few centimeters, having almost the same visual view, and my FPS instantly was reduced by 100-200 FPS while being completely static and not moving any further.
I have made some Xcapframe captures with the correct settings and RTSS RivaTuner, as mentioned in the stickied "need help" forum post. Alas, I don't know how to upload them here because I am being told that uploading .json files is not allowed, which is why I uploaded them to a GitHub repository: https://github.com/Mockii7/CapFrameX_Jsons. I have also taken screenshots of the in-game locations where I made the Xcapframe captures, which are also uploaded to the GitHub repository. The captures and the screenshots are named accordingly so you can know which ones belong together.
If you need any further details, please let me know. I am very interested in Valorant getting a performance boost. Thanks.

Hello Mockii,
Thank you for all your time.
We have completed the reproduction of your issue, when playing Valorant the fps will constantly drop from around 500fps to 300-200fps range. A similar behavior can be seen on a Nvidia GPU. In this case, this could be a limitation on the game side. For further troubleshooting steps, I would suggest checking with the game developers to see if this is expected.
I also recommend you install our latest graphics driver available, since this may improve the performance, by following the steps below:
- Clean install the graphics driver with Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU). For guidance, How to Use the Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to Uninstall an Intel® Graphics Driver.
- Then, install the graphics driver version 31.0.101.5186.
Let me know if you have further questions
