Intel Arc Control Software

The Arc Control Software states that my Platform is not supported. I have an MSI Z370A Pro with an i5-9600k and an ARC A770 16GB.

I know that my CPU is officially not supported, but everything works fine. Drivers and the Control Software install without errors, Intel Software Assistant confirms that everything is up to date. No problems in any games or applications.

The only problem is that I can't use the ARC Control software as long as my iGPU is enbaled. It needs to be enabled though for the system to POST and I also use it. The Control software seems to think that my iGPU is the primary GPU and since it's from 9th Gen it think my whole system is not supported. It doesn't seems to check for secondary GPUs, so it doesn't notice the ARC A770 and in consequence only shows me an error without the possibility to use it at all.

The only way it works is if I turn the iGPU off in BIOS and add a second dedicated GPU to the system which I think is pretty weird.

See pictures below for details.

Please just remove this bug and let Control Center check for every GPU, not just for the primary one.

Hello LuciusTatus

Thank you for posting on the Intel® ARC™ Graphics Communities. I am sorry you are experiencing issues when trying to use Intel® Arc™ Control Software.

As you mentioned Intel® Arc™ Control requires 11th generation processor or newer so this might be an issue but I would like to get more information to help with this problem, you can check the requirements at the following link:

How to Install Intel® Arc Control

Please us know the following information:

  • In order to clarify this issue, I understand that you can install Intel® Arc™ Control but get the error message when trying to open it. Is this correct?
  • Do you have the video cable connected to the ARC GPU instead of the motherboard?

Also, please try installing the latest driver 31.0.101.4255 using Display Driver Uninstaller while having the integrated GPU disabled in the device manager. Steps to disable the integrated GPU:

  • Open Device Manager
  • Go to display adapters > Intel® UHD Graphics 630
  • Double click on Intel® UHD Graphics 630
  • Go to the Driver Tab > Disable Device
